intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Yeah, but the Red Sox won Game 1 that year, so they weren't coming back from a 0-2 deficit. The only times it's happened are 2004 (the infamous 0-3 comeback by the Sox), 1985 (which we should know as Jays fans, since we were the ones who choked it away to the Royals), and 1982 (Brewers over Angels). Oh s***! That changes everything. Somebody bring up the days of the week the comebacks commenced on. What was the weather?

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 This loss is on FrozenRopes. Get your GDT cup on, bitch. You're in.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 The only time a team has come back after trailing 2-0 in the mlb playoffs is the 1995 Seattle Mariners Vs the Yankees, and The Red Sox vs the Yankees in 2004 Um, no, there have been others.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Well they need to sweep all three home games now and hope to somehow win one in Cleveland. Good luck with that.
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 definitley not going to shut up Well then how about you stop trying to Google your way to sounding smart and posting a dozen memes a day.
Mittens87 Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Not time to give up yet. If Stroman can beat Bauer there is a pretty good chance Sanchez can hold them off enough to get another win. This team did win 6 in a row. But will be very difficult to do this now. If they are going to play like this would rather they get it over with and get knocked out in this series rather than against Cubs or Dodgers. Win 2 lose 1 win 2, pretty simple
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Get your GDT cup on, bitch. You're in. Hes not allowed to make a GDT. Or he's buying me tickets. We have a bet.
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 The Jays are pretty much screwed anytime they face a right-hander with good breaking stuff. I think Shapiro's partly to blame for not adding some left-handed pop to the lineup. The Jays have to have one of the least balanced starting lineups in the league.

What was the weather? Never said it did change anything. People were wondering how often teams blow 2-0 leads in the ALCS, I was curious myself, so I looked it up. No need to get snarky about it.

Joshtowers Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Um, no, there have been others. i got it right here for all you suckers that think your right, and f*** you governator "Indeed, we saw a team dig out of a 0-2 hole in a best-of-five Division Series just last year, when the Blue Jays did so against the Rangers. Still, the odds are long. Since the creation of the League Championship Series, which was a best-of-five series from 1969 to 1984, there have been 72 best-of-five series that have started 2-0. Of the 72 teams to fall behind in that scenario, just nine have come back to win the series. That's 12.5 percent. Of those nine, four -- the 1981 Dodgers, 1982 Brewers, 1984 Padres and 1995 Mariners -- staged their comebacks by winning the final three games at home under the old 2-3 homefield format. That leaves just five teams that managed to come back while having to win at least one game on the road. Under the current 2-2-1 homefield format, introduced in 1998, just four of 37 teams to fall behind 0-2 have come back to win the series -- the 1999 and 2003 Red Sox, 2001 Yankees and last year's Blue Jays -- a mere 10.8 percent. Of that same group of 37 teams to fall behind 0-2, 23 of them, 62 percent, fell victim to a sweep in Game 3." taken from http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/205511968/division-series-down-two-games-to-zero

Governator Community Moderator Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 1999 and 2003 Red Sox, 2001 Yankees and last year's Blue Jays You've gone from one team, to two teams to four teams pretty quick and that only the past 17 years...

I understand and agree to bring Osuna in but I was thinking to myself maybe I would bring in Grilli....risky move but he would light a fire under some of those guys...who knows the outcome most likely would have been the same i guess. I just believe in sports a positive attitude is a game changer

Half of them should of gone 0-2, that's 15... 3 come backs?? 3/15=20% That makes sense.
