Ah ok that makes sense. But it's not just this play, there's been a few lately that I thought were easy infield singles and Pillar wasn't able to beat it out.

He was running hard but you lose more ground when you're preparing to round vs staying on the line, that was just a great play from kipnis, you don't expect a batter to run through the bag on a single past the second baseman
