LETS DO THIS!

For the Blue Jays:

Marco Estrada, RHP

Estrada hit a rough patch between Aug. 9-Sept. 14, posting a 6.95 ERA over seven starts. But he recovered in his final three outings, allowing only two runs on nine hits over 19 innings, with 19 strikeouts.

Lineup (early guess)

Travis

Donaldson

Encarnacion

Bautista

Martin

Tulo

Navarro

Pillar

Upton

For the Rangers:

Cole Hamels, LHP

Hamels has not faced the Jays since Game 5 of the 2015 ALDS. He is 0-2 with a 6.97 ERA in four regular-season starts against the Jays and 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA in two ALDS starts against them. He is 7-5 with a 3.03 ERA in 15 career postseason games.

I really want Upton and Carrera in the OF for this game.

Have a feeling Upton will have a big game (assuming he's in).

Lol article has the Rangers starting pitchers > our starting pitching roation.

Wtf is this guy smoking?

That's one of the worst articles I've read in a long time. Donaldson is a "slight" advantage over Beltre? I know how great a career Beltre has had, but at this point it's not close. Donaldson is a legit MVP calibre player, Beltre, not so much. And Andrus over Tulo? I'll take the average hitter with superior defence at a key position, over a slightly better bat (that's debatable) with inferior D.

You are highly underrating Beltre...

Beltre is still putting up consistent 5-6 WAR seasons in his twilight (just put up 6.2 this year and a 130 wRC+) with tremendous defence. He may not be "MVP-calibre", but he's still outstanding and Donaldson doesn't look to be at 100% health.

We gave up 90 runs less than the Rangers did, despite playing in a better division with more hitter friendly parks. Happ and Sanchez have been every bit as good as Hamels and Darvish. With the way our starters have performed the last few weeks I would certainly say we have the pitching advantage. Tulo over Andrus anyday.

Beltre also has been super hot in Aug and Sept, ridiculously good.

Great points

I like our rotation better despite the two "big names" the Rangers have 1-2

Going to the game today.. lots of cheers and fist bumps as I go through airport security rocking my Jays gear. Can't wait for the game.... Went for game 3 last year.. hopefully a similar outcome today... Go jaysss!!

Have fun man. Was there for games 3 and 4 last year as well. With the early start time try to make your way behind the Jays dugout on the 3rd base line. Good times to be had.

Donaldson is a slight advantage over Beltre right now. With a good hip and good legs he'd be way better, but its no secret that his health has hampered his offensive abilities right now

HOF Beltre. An absolute bargain at 18mm per.

Weat texas gear, throw beer at Pillar (only close) and then the universe will be balanced.

Beltre is a machine. He is one of the few guys i dread seeing come up in any situation. I wish Joey aged as well at Beltre, we would have some cause to keep him around.

go jays

The adding of Beltran and Gomez is also scary. Its going to be a good series, but I like our chances.

The Beltre free agent signing was easily the best one in recent memory.

When you compare his WAR production and 2/36mm deal to Edwin and Jose's, its very hard to pay the kind of numbers/term that have been thrown around for 1B/DH's, even with some kind of reasonable premium for a shortage of elite level bats in the FA market.

Beltre is one of those guys you cannot hate IMO. He has to be one of the toughest players in the game

He could barely walk in the playoffs against us last season, and he still played solid D and got his hits. I love the player, but I hope he completely sucks in this series.
