Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Seems to happen a lot Trade him in the off-season. As good as he can be when healthy, he too unreliable.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 I'd give Cecil one more chance. We don't have a choice lol
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Quick hit on the Pillar homer and how ridiculous it was http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/instagraphs/kevin-pillar-hit-a-stupid-home-run/
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 While that is true, let's also not ignore it's only happened 3 times in Wild Card era, aaaaand that we faced Lewis and Perez in Game 3-4, and the Rangers are getting Sanchez and Stroman. I'm not counting my chickens, but the situation is different. I think it was Perez and Holland in games 3-4

Governator Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 What is everyone's thoughts about winning the series early. Don't get me wrong, I want a Jays sweep. But my concern is the level of momentum we have built over the last week by playing and winning almost everyday. My concern is if the Jays sweep, the ALCS isn't scheduled until Friday. That is a lot of time to be sitting around, like the Mets last year going into WS. Does rest kill momentum? Maybe Cleveland will also sweep and point will be moot... To be fair the odds of Odor actually taking a walk is 3%, the worst in the majors.
BigBulgeBlueBird Verified Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Is BJ Upton unplayable? I feel like he shuts off mentally at times. However, the last 3 times he's made contact, the ball has left the yard once, and missed the other two times by about 4 feet which is a promising sign. He changes the dynamic of our offense when he can get on base, and makes it even tougher to pitch to the likes of JD, EE, JB etc, but he's just too inconsistent.
Slugger Verified Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 I think it was Perez and Holland in games 3-4 You are correct.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Their pythag W/L record pins them at a mediocre 82-80. We're at 91-71. They're bottom half in both Offensive and Pitching WAR, and have a +8 RD. They're playing on luck, has there been a team in MLB history with a better record in 1 run games? This is worse than KC level BS, the numbers say we should handle them easy. I'm not one to toot my own horn, but for once I'd like to
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Close thread, there is no more discussion to be had.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Close thread, there is no more discussion to be had. I'd rather no one start a thread about the CS until the winner is announced either, keep that s*** in the General thread
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 ALDS MVP anyone? Do we really have to ask It's Osuna.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 I'm not one to toot my own horn, but for once I'd like to If you count the post-season, those impostors now have a negative run differential on the year.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Just read that the Rangers' starters had an ERA of 13.94, which ties for the worst ever in a playoff series.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Just read that the Rangers' starters had an ERA of 13.94, which ties for the worst ever in a playoff series. Hard to imagine 13.94 would be tie but that's ugly.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Hard to imagine 13.94 would be tie but that's ugly. http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/texas-rangers/rangers/2016/10/09/rangers-starting-rotation-real-losers-alds Yeah they don't say who it ties with, but you're right about it being bad. In the playoffs all you can ask from your starters is to give you a chance to win, and they didn't really do that for them.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Brian Anderson's play by play was pretty on point yesterday IMO.
