Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 What a f***ing moment. Pay this man his money. We owe him 100 million for that HR alone. What a player. Blue Jays for life, I love this guy.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 Jamie Campbell with the right idea. Here's your blank cheque.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Bring him and Bautista back f*** it. They got the mojo!
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 Bring him and Bautista back f*** it. They got the mojo! Look at the fans we're getting. Think about all of the money. I get the analysis and I get they might not be worth it, but these are franchise icons that define everything that this team is about.

Payroll coming out, Shapiro expanding Duniden footing most of the bill on the city, and ticket prices going up.... we gotta spend that money somewhere. We need to be up on Boston/LA/NYY levels where we can have aging players on payroll not effecting us.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Relax. F/O will let the market set the price. At this point, it doesn't look like Bautista will much more than 2-3 years and I would think the same for EE. I also expect the F/O to buy low on guys like Liriano from teams looking to dump salaries. Let's see what happens.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Pay that man. Next game Jays gotta chant that when he's up right?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Pay that man. If I was Rogers, I would resign Edwin and then for April Fool's day next year add a sucahrge to everyone's monthly bills and label it "Edwin Contract Fund"
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 EE's price just went up, Jays gonna be competing with every other team for his services Sounds like he'll take a bit of a discount though 4 yrs, $90M
mtljaysfan Verified Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Hope FO won't change their minds because of this HR. The HR was awesome, but we just needed a sac fly to win at that moment. If anything, pitching won the game for us tonight, and our BO out-pitched O's BP! That's beautifully done.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 They're raking in the cash this year. Take $1 out of every cellphone plan and seat sold this year and you can pay Edwin's whole contract Just saying.
TholesWeirdEye Verified Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Ubaldo, had a great interview after the game. lol
Thaze2016 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Well, then. I hate to be an "I told you so" kind of guy, but I do recall posting on the Blue Jays message board (several years ago) that Edwin would be a beast of an asset if the Jays would just bloody put him at DH. :-) That being said, I am happy for the Jays and their fans! I hope that they can ride this high through the post season, though there are undoubtedly steep challenges ahead.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 How come EE was walked earlier with a base open and not walked in the 11th
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 How come EE was walked earlier with a base open and not walked in the 11th With Jimenez he'd probably walk in the winning run with walktista up.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 How come EE was walked earlier with a base open and not walked in the 11th First base wasn't open in this case and there was already one out. EE is a good DP candidate as any and there's no need to put added pressure on Jimenez with the bases loaded. If there were no out, then possibly you walk EE to set up a force at any bag.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 You can't just say pay the man his money. If Eddie says 5 and 150...do you pay his man his money? f*** no. You absolutely look at bringing Eddie back, but it has to be for the right term and dollar.

He is probably willing to take 18-20 instead of 25, because he DH's and doesn't field game in game out.
SweetSmellingChacin Verified Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 These guys are icons. Even if the Jays don't win a WS with this core, Eddie's and JBs homeruns will live on forever. Just classic stuff. I'm not worried about the offseason, what happens happens. Lets win a WS now.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Resign Edwin and Jose Build four statues in front of Rogers Centre Carter Jumping after Homerun Robbie Hands up after Homerun Bautista Bat flip Edwing after homerun
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 How about that Scott Rolen Trade eh, Orlando Hudson ----> Troy Glaus -----> Scott Rolen ------> Edwin Encarnacion
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 How about that Scott Rolen Trade eh, Orlando Hudson ----> Troy Glaus -----> Scott Rolen ------> Edwin Encarnacion No, that Edwin Encarnacion was released. This is a different Edwin Encarnacion that we picked up off waivers.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 No, that Edwin Encarnacion was released. This is a different Edwin Encarnacion that we picked up off waivers. Oh yeah almost forgot http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/11/as-claim-edwin-encarnacion.html also relevant http://www.sbnation.com/2010/6/21/1528951/edwin-encarnacion-blue-jays-dfa I remember I hate him so much for not running out a grounder
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 We also lose the game if it wasn't for this play (We'd be down 3-1 instead of 2-1 after the next pitch). The defense last night was on point. When looking back it was one of the best games we've played all year on defense & pitching alone. http://mlb.mlb.com/images/7/0/8/204985708/100416_pillarcatchgif_med_l0mira9v.gif
