thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Is anyone else going to struggle watching the playoffs this year? I'll likely watch... But it will be with a very heavy heart f*** baseball right now.

bronson44 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Just shows how random baseball can be though. Cecil was an absolute world killer last year and this year he has probably cost us a playoff spot on his own. It's like every time he made a little mistake he would get destroyed. So true. He has torpedoed us consistently
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 I know everyone's choked, but it's not over yet boys. Even if we do lose tonight, we're still a half game up on Detroit while they have an extra game to play than us... Even if Detroit wins that last game of the season, it still means we're currently tied for a playoff spot. I can't understand the attitude of "the seasons over". It's gonna be tough, but it aint over yet. Playoff odds probably dropped by about 20% tonight. Season obviously isn't over, but today was very, very bad.
el duque Verified Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Ortiz shouldn't be put on a pedestal and given a free pass just because he's a big, happy go lucky guy. Eye test doesn't lie. He was basically done a few years ago, and now he's having an mvp season the year he's going to retire. He probably doesn't care about getting tested and failing since he's going to be out of baseball soon anyway, he has nothing to lose. if he test positive then shame of him but throwing this comment without any proof is not fare for one of the best baseball players of all time
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Well, I did ban you from posting the league threads. And I'm pretty sure I challenged you to a fight one time. I really have no good reason to post in those threads anyway. And you've challenged like half the board to a fight.

But it will be with a very heavy heart Of course I'll be sad if the Jays wind up wasting this season but to be honest they've been so inconsistent this year they don't really deserve a spot. I'll be happy if they can make it but I'll understand if they don't. That being said, go Cubs, Indians, Nationals and Dodgers if the Jays can't make it. Great stories with all those teams.

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Edwin 0 for 5. Failed his audition today for the Sox.
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Rain could be a godsend, it looks like it's ratting Kimbrel
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Edwin 0 for 5. Failed his audition today for the Sox. Or maybe the Sox already paid him
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Ball 4!!! Martin coming up, very SSS but he's 3/6 career against Kimbrle

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Bautista probably should have already been at second
Floortom Verified Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Man Martin stinks. How is he hitting in the 5 spot??
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Tulo is obviously going to hit a dinger here.
STLJaysFan Verified Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Has Ortiz been tested this year? The league probably told him before the season that they'll look the other way since it's his last year and it would look bad on baseball if it comes out that the guy who's making a big egotistical retirement spectacle is on steroids. If Jose Canseco announced he was going to retire at the end of the year, he would have been tested 10 times during his final year just because he's "unlikable".

Systematic bias towards rich teams and popular players is nothing new in MLB. Get used to it unless you want to be constantly angry.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Gibbons should probably just resign tonight.
