He did? No he didn't really, Benoit against 4 lefites was a gamble when you have Cecil in the pen and Pillar bunting with 2 on and 0 out and Carerra following him wasn't bright either.

 

Hell Pillar bunted twice when he shouldn't have in the 9th, his only good call in the late innings was to bring in Osuna for the 9th and suicide squeeze with CArerra up

Having him face Sanchez, or rather not choosing to IBB him, is probably the best decision that Gibbons made all game long.
