mikebel111 Verified Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Donaldson did his best Andrus impression and cost us a chance to win but he's still the team's best player. Toronto fans are f***ing morons. He hasnt been the best player for a while. Maybe he isnt the greatest thing after all?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 jays had a runner on second and no one out twice in extras and couldn't move the runners at all. there is lots of blame to go around, but Donaldson seems to have left his head on the bench when he come out for the last half inning Probably getting pissed off about the offense and forgot we had to play d
frizzer1 Verified Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 If you can't score more than one run in 12 innings you aint gonna win, bad defense or not..
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 He hasnt been the best player for a while. Maybe he isnt the greatest thing after all? Who is the best player?
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 The Dickey black cloud causes another loss.
Plat Verified Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Who is the best player? I would say EE or Happ, this year's Donaldson is considerably worse than last year's MVP version
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Are you serious? Two eggs against the Angels, including a shutout from their 8th starter, and then today. This is awful. This. Regardless of what yesterday looked like, this is pretty ugly.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 I would say EE or Happ, this year's Donaldson is considerably worse than last year's MVP version Not considerably at all. He's been worth 7 WAR for us this season, that's by far the best player on our team.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 I would say EE or Happ, this year's Donaldson is considerably worse than last year's MVP version Lol...he has played injured all year and has almost the same stats.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 This loss is on the offense again. Gotta score way more than 1 run in 12 innings. Pathetic hitting again. Also, it seems like JD has f***ed up a bunch of throws lately, probably due to the hip injury.
mikebel111 Verified Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Okay emotions gone. JD is still lovely but man he clearly is hurt or just isnt his usual self. He needs to figure himself out I do maintain this offense is so overrated.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 I suppose on the plus side, they won a series that they did need to win in a place where they usually don't.

Toronto fans are f***ing morons. What the f*** are you even talking about? That people are frustrated and pissed off in the moment following a s***** loss doesn't mean that everyone is suddenly turning on JD, or denying that he's our best player. Of course, you're just looking to be a contrarian douchebag like always so I don't even know why I'm bothering.

GoJays1562 Verified Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Offense is so bad we will probably get shutout in the wild card game by Jimenez lol.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Why didn't they consider walking Cano putting the force at home Not saying that would have helped but I don't understand why face their best hitter. Even if you get Cano you have to face Cruz anyways Just doesn't make sense
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Offense is so bad we will probably get shutout in the wild card game by Jimenez lol. Yeah I wouldn't be surprised. We actually need to make it to the wildcard game though
mikebel111 Verified Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Offense is so bad we will probably get shutout in the wild card game by Jimenez lol. This offense is very overhyped, but I get the wierd feeling they are going to explode in the playoffs.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Detroit is going to make the WC game for sure Look at their schedule
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 He hasnt been the best player for a while. Maybe he isnt the greatest thing after all? He's injured don't be f***ing stupid.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 JD still pretty easily the best player on the team, a bad month with injuries/slump doesnt change that
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 You can shut the f*** up. Justify your idiocy. What did he do to garner criticism? Was the first grounder too soft?
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 I blame Jonn for this explosion atrocity GDT. Stick with your reverse jinx or keep quiet brah.

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 same wRC+ I think the "decline" is all in the defence. Dude is still a 7-win player this year though. His bat is on par, although a higher walk rate seems to be hiding slight downgrades elsewhere (contact? Which could also be luck). He's just not on pace for 8.5 or whatever. He's nearly twice as valuable as the next best player on the team, according to WAR measures. He also only really did one thing wrong in that inning -- the throw to first. The play at third was just super hard luck. The ball was kicked out of his glove on a clean slide.

Can't believe he even hit that ball out yesterday, dude's a warrior that's why I'll never doubt what he does

The ball was kicked out of his glove on a clean slide. This isn't the try league. It's the get it done league. That play must be made at this juncture of the season, no excuses. Defense has cost us a run or more in just about every game this month. I count at least 4 examples where it did cost us the game. We would likely be tied with Boston or have the division lead had we not played the worst stretch of defense in franchise history.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
