gaining ground on the jays. Their offense struggles less than the jays. Their pitching is not as good as ours though.

 

the fact that our bats have struggled so much is what worries me. our pitching has probably outperformed and can't be expected to carry us all the way through. Offense needs to step up.

seriously as a mod I am very supportive of posters. I fight the other mods over banning all the time. I have 1 f***ing rule (plus all the little other ones that I like to throw in on whims). That rule is f*** THE OTHER BOARD, it doesn't exist here. Don't mention it, don't reference that person who ruined it and just let it be. This s*** is only brought up when there are issues here, the board is fine 99% of the time despite the presence of those people you mention, they had nothing to do with this s***. No one is spamming the board like what was happening at the other board. We have mods here (even if I don't agree with who they are). So follow my one rule and let that other f***ing board go and don't reference it when talking about our mods. It's been a while since I had to bring this up so I won't ban over it but I will start again if that's what it comes to.

True--however, the O's play the Tigers this weekend and the Red Sox after that.. so someone has to lose ground in that race between those teams. And Houston's chances are going to likely come to an end this weekend--they play the top-rated Chicago Cubs, then the Rangers after that..

 

Really, the AL East teams are basically in the driver's seat.. Jays just need to wake up and start winning. Plus, we head home after today's game.. and we still have a road trip to LA and SEA against out-of-contention teams.

Pillar isn't a complete waste with the bat like Goins is. Goins can't even hit his weight and he doesn't weight that much.

 

Also, Pillar's defense in CF is much much better than Goins' defense in the infield.

 

Pillar is not the most patient hitter but he usually handles the bat half decently, certainly better than that at the very least. That might be his worst plate appearance of the season. Clearly the losing is starting to get to some of these guys. Can't blame him for throwing that tantrum. I'd be pretty mad at myself too. Heck, some of the people on here were nearly as mad or insanely pessimistic.

Just glanced over this thread and do not understand why Spanky or anyone else got banned. If Spanky wants to be positive that is his choice... if he wants to tell the negative people to go eat dicks that's his choice.

 

People are upset because Jays chances of no playoffs have gone from 5% to 20% over the last 5 days.

 

Jays chances of at least one playoff series have gone from 80% to 60%

 

Pretty big shift so people have the right to complain.

 

Spanky see's that the odds are still better than even that we get atleast Division series, fair enough.

 

What's the problem?? Looks like pretty reasonable that we have these differing opinions given the sudden decrease in playoff odds.

You wonder if these people have ever watched the playoffs... we've seen an 87 win Yankee team win a series, then a 116 win Mariners team not even make it.

 

The Cards were the best team in baseball last year, didn't make it out of division.

Worse loss of the year by far. There is about a 50/50 chance we lose tonight... sucks... there is about a 40% chance we don't even see a multi game playoff series.

 

If the coin flips the wrong way the season will be a huge dissapointment.

Bautista has had a couple good games in a row (minus the running game? heh). He's walked 4 times in 2 games and did well in RF yesterday, made a cannon throw from the wall to nail Castro at 2B. Looked vintage Bats out there. Also got robbed of a HR from like 30mph winds straight in from left which would have been a game changer. I'm ready for Travis to lead off though.
