HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Thanks, I am flying in from out of town, might have to commute a bit, that's fine. Thanks again. Any Restaurant recommendations? Honestly if you want some great food you will want to visit Queen West or King West. Queen West is known for having some good fashion too and is the hipster part of town King West has great pubs and restaurants but has the nightlife and known as douchebag part of town You may also be interested in visiting the Distillery District in the eastern part of downtown. Lots of good restaurants there (my favorite is Cluny) and the atmosphere at night is pretty swell If you're looking for your standard pub there are plenty along Blue Jays Way and along Front St
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Hi, long time Jays fan, coming to TO in September for the sox series, was wondering if you fine folks can tell me some good Hotels fairly close to the stadium to stay at? Book quickly. The Boston series is right around the same time as TIFF, which is Toronto's busiest hotel time of the year.

It is a bit hipster though.

Check on AirBNB as I'm sure you'll be able to find something in your price range. I think TIFF is going on as well still, so thats why hotel prices are absurd. Plus many Boston fans will be making the trip up north of the border. Usually otherwise you can get a great hotel downtown in the $150-200 range, though you just picked the wrong weekend. If you stay outside of downtown, just make sure you're close to a subway line, because public transit is pretty scarce in the city. As for restaurants, can't go wrong with anything in the Trinity-Bellwoods area. It's about a $8-10 Uber ride from the Rogers Centre, and there are great restaurants and bars all over. Check out Bellwoods Brewery if you're into craft beer, plus they have a decent menu as well.
Vialotor Verified Member Posted August 31, 2016 Author Posted August 31, 2016 I really appreciate the responses guys, I am stoked, already have tickets, last time I saw a game at the dome we had Frank Thomas and say Halladay pitch and there was 15-20k there. Should be sold out and loud this time.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I got this message from a poster that hasn't been approved to post (and I can't approve). I had a death in the family and wouldn't be able to send him an appropriate response plus in game ticket and seating issues this year are not my forte as I have only been to one game. Help this guy out please. I check out the forum every once in a while and saw the "Coming to Toronto" thread started by an out of town guy looking to get some info. I'm in a very similar boat, coming from Alberta to see that same Boston series for my first ever Jays game. I made this account yesterday, but didn't receive a confirmation email so I couldn't post in the thread. I saw how you offered to help him out and was hoping I could get some advice as well. The difference is that I have a hotel, but only have tix to the Friday and Saturday game. I'm thinking that my only options for Sunday tix is Stubhub or scalpers, but Stubhub is expensive and I'm unsure about risking it by waiting until I get there to scalp for tix. A friend of mine went last year and scalped, but that was early on in the year before we got hot, so I'm thinking it might be tougher now. One other thing is that we bought pretty bad seats for the Saturday game and would prefer to the flight deck. Any idea how early we would have to get to the ballpark for that? Do you have any experience or advice on this? Thanks.

ChrisS Verified Member Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Tickets arent cheap for that series. His best bet is to go to the UPS store on Front, wait until 15 min before game time and buy cheap seats from stubhub. Print them out immediately and go to the game.

Thanks. -unfortunately I would usually recommend checking stubhub 5 minutes before game time, but the UPS store I suggest to print those tickets is closed on Sundays. I'm not sure if there are any other available options to print, so scalping may be your bet. -If you want a flight deck for that game, you will need to go there early and make a mad dash for it. I hope you have someone else coming with you because you will need to alternate bathroom breaks.
