vilifyingforce Verified Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Almost spit out my beer when I seen it on the ticker, then I thought about it and it made sense. Loup has been filthy in AAA this season, could really use a second lefty and now would be a perfect time for him to come up with his s*** together.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Loup is killing it in AAA. 0.73 FIP over 16.2 innings, 12:1 k/bb. Ultra small sample size. But as long he's used as the loogy he is he will be fine addition to the team.
vilifyingforce Verified Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Ultra small sample size. But as long he's used as the loogy he is he will be fine addition to the team. Sure, but, when did he become a questionable call up? How Schultz, Tepera, Venditte, and Girodo have thrown more MLB innings this season then him is mystifying.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Aaron is going to be in complete dismay over losing 10 days of MLB league min pay instead collecting milb pay.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Aaron Loup is actually really f***ing good. He should have been on the roster already.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Ultra small sample size. But as long he's used as the loogy he is he will be fine addition to the team. What's the threshold for Ultra small when referring to sample size? And when does super small and then small kick in?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Sure, but, when did he become a questionable call up? How Schultz, Tepera, Venditte, and Girodo have thrown more MLB innings this season then him is mystifying. Well he was hurt for a large portion of the first half.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 What's the threshold for Ultra small when referring to sample size? And when does super small and then small kick in? 0.1 IP = Microscopic <10 = Ultra small <30 = Super small <70 = Small <7000 = You're not Cy Young
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I agree with the concept, but why remove him from his team mates and the team during a pennant run?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 What's the threshold for Ultra small when referring to sample size? And when does super small and then small kick in? Probably works the same way your penis does.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Probably works the same way your penis does. I named mine Old Hoss.
rancher Verified Member Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Sanchez was favouring the middle finger on his throwing hand on Saturday so it is possible that rather than putting him on the 15 day DL, this would work better for the team. They did indicate that he would not be actively pitching in Dunedin which makes this the most likely reason for this action.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I agree with the concept, but why remove him from his team mates and the team during a pennant run? Yeah that part of the situation sucks. He has to be stuck in Dunedin with his team in the middle of a playoff push.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I agree with the concept, but why remove him from his team mates and the team during a pennant run? Yeah it's too bad they couldn't "send him down" on paper but still keep him around the team.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Aaron is going to be in complete dismay over losing 10 days of MLB league min pay instead collecting milb pay. There was probably an agreement where they said they would add on what money he lost (believe it was 27k) to next years contract.

I was being sarcastic, it's clear he agreed to this when they decided to keep him in the rotation. That article on his sinker was great, everyone can see how much it troubles RHH game to game

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 As long as he is up by the playoff roster deadline, which I assume is part of the plan, I am ok with this.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 They probably asked where he wanted his vacation and he picked Florida. More likely because his next start would be in Tampa which is just down the road and he has his house there that is close the the Jays ST facility.
