fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I think he's getting skipped for his next start vs. Twinkies Edit:
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 This feels weird somehow It does, but it's a smart move to give him some rest and limit his innings a little.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Can someone help me understand this...?
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Can someone help me understand this...? They plan on barely using him at all for a few weeks, and would prefer he not take up a roster spot.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Can someone help me understand this...? He's getting a Florida vacation mid-season.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Can someone help me understand this...? I'm guessing they were going to skip a start anyway to keep his innings down. He can skip a start in Florida instead.of here so that they can add a bullpen arm during that time. I guess that makes sense given the overall plan
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Author Posted August 21, 2016 Can someone help me understand this...? He has options so they don't have to DL him. They were planning to skip him anyways so now they have an arm in a he pen
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Can someone help me understand this...? He was going to be skipped in his next turn and wasn't going to pitch out of the pen. THis is a way to add another body in his place until he starts again. Why they decided for Loup instead of a position player is the more questionable move. Gibbons doesn't even use Tepera unless it's a blowout, and that's his boy. He won't be using Loup either. Might as well have called up BUrns or something. At least he would have been of some use.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Can someone help me understand this...? If they wanted to skip a start, which has been planned for a while really he would not pitch for over 10 days due to the 6 man rotation. In order not to waste his roster spot for that long they can send him to the minors and call someone up. He skips his start down there then comes back in 10-12 days. It's a smart move.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Makes perfect sense to me. Radio and Twitter is going to blow up today lol
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 10 days vacations for Sanchez. Great move by Shatkins f*** you Alex

Loup is probably for today. The high leverage pen arms have all been used in each of the last two nights. Need another fresh arm (and for Stroman to go 7+).
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Loup's likely only up for today to give the bullpen an extra arm. He or Tepera will be sent down Tuesday when Pillar is activated off the DL, of which the Jays will go back to a 4-man bench. Sanchez will likely return when rosters expand in 11 days. This is the right thing to do.. we need the extra spot.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Move makes sense. The casuals are going to lose their minds though.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Honestly, it's nice to read smart baseball chatter here. When we hear on the radio today, it is going to be bonkers ********. I will say it though, the kids young, his arm is fine and he has shown no sign of fatigue. I would keep Liriano and Sanchez in the rotation and move Dickey to the pen. Stroman doesn't seem to have a cap on his innings, why Sanchez?
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 It's happening Joni McLachlan – @JoniMcLachlan @ShiDavidi right perhaps had a lot to do with his loosing command

Stroman likely spent last year building up his arm strength and throwing a lot while rehabbing his knee. Sanchez threw 92 innings last year.

Governator Community Moderator Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 wtf!!!!!!!!!!!! sanchez is there best arm right now sham-piro cant get the axe soon enough It sort of makes a lot of sense, if you consider their plan of skipping a start or two....

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Why Loup though Loup is killing it in AAA. 0.73 FIP over 16.2 innings, 12:1 k/bb.
