Both teams exchanged scoreless innings for the first third of the game but then Buffalo got the ball rolling, or rather, sent the ball flying in the fourth. Matt Dominguez stroked a one-out single through the middle of the infield, then coasted home on Casey Kotchman's shot to the concourse beyond the right-field seats. Two batters later, Erik Kratz lined a base-hit to right and trotted the rest of the way around the bags as Jio Mier made it a 4-0 contest, blasting his third homer of the year into the first row of seats in center. Up 4-2 in the seventh, Matt Dominguez got in on the fun as he plated Jesus Montero with a sky-high ball onto the short porch in left. Kotchman followed Dominguez's homer with a sharply-hit double off of the right-field wall. Kratz was then hit by a pitch and both men scored, as Mier sent a liner over the head of centerfielder Jacob May for his third hit of the night. The shortstop's third and fourth RBI of the game gave Buffalo an 8-2 lead. In his 30th career start as a Bison, Scott Copeland dodged trouble for the most part of 5.2 innings. The Longview, TX native had runners aboard the bases in every inning but gave up only two runs. The first Charlotte tally came on an inside-the-park home run from Adam Engel. The speedy outfielder lined a ball to shallow left that eluded a charging Darrell Ceciliani, allowing him to circle the bases while the outfielder headed back to the corner to retrieve the sphere. Copeland fanned four Knights and was helped out by some nifty defense from his middle infielders. Mier and Alexi Casilla each made separate flips from behind the second-base bag to each other, converting both into double plays in the fourth and sixth innings. Dustin Antonlin came on for Copeland with two on and two out in the sixth, and quickly ended the frame with a 93 MPH heater to punch out Engel. Antolin struck out two more as he worked a scoreless seventh inning. Matt Dermody gave up a run and struck out two as he finished off the final two frames. BISONS NOTES: The four-RBI effort was the most in a game by Jio Mier since August 20, 2012 when he accomplished the feat for Single-A Lansing…Casey Kotchman's seventh home run of the year extended his hitting streak to nine-games…Jesus Montero used a single in his fourth at-bat to push his streak to 13 games…Dustin Antolin made his 41st appearance, more than any other Buffalo hurler…Matt Dominguez leads the Herd with 17 home runs and 63 runs batted in. http://i.imgur.com/qNij0nb.png http://i.imgur.com/vsVgr1N.png http://i.imgur.com/gRUNuLO.png http://www.milb.com/assets/images/9/5/0/187445950/cuts/Leb640_pim67m30_s7fvfhiu.jpg Manchester, NH - Jason Leblebijian drilled a two-run homer with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Fisher Cats rallied for a 3-2 win over the Altoona Curve on Saturday at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. In the bottom of the eighth, Derrick Loveless tripled off the left field wall and Leblebijian took the next pitch from reliever Jhondaniel Medina (2-2) out to left for his seventh home run. Wilmer Font worked the first seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits. He walked one and struck out four. Brady Dragmire (4-5) earned the win with a scoreless eighth inning and Chris Smith finished up for his 14th save, working around a lead-off single. Altoona (68-57) took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning. Chris Stewart was hit by pitch and Elvis Escobar homered. New Hampshire (61-65) made it 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth on Rowdy Tellez' home run, his team-leading 17th off Curve starter John Kuchno. The Fisher Cats and the Curve complete the series on Sunday at 1:35 p.m. The first 2,500 fans will receive a free Fisher Cats Poster, courtesy of Spectrum Marketing. The Lugnuts rallied back from early 4-0 and 6-3 deficits in the first two innings. Starter Angel Perdomo lasted only one inning, loading the bases three batters in on a double and two walks before cleanup hitter Matt Rose started the two-team hit parade with a grand slam. It was the start of a massive night for Rose, who went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and five RBIs, delivering a two-run single in the second inning against Tayler Saucedo. Lansing All-Star Juan Kelly provided the answer with two early swings: a two-run homer in a three-run first inning and a two-run single in a three-run second inning against South Bend starter Jose Paulino, tying the game at 6-6. In the process, Kelly extended his on-base streak to 21 games. But the Cubs pulled away against Saucedo (Loss, 8-10), who allowed 11 hits and seven runs in 4 1/3 innings. South Bend reliever Pedro Araujo (Win, 2-0) relieved Paulino to start the fifth and struck out seven batters in three innings. Tejada broke Araujo's spell in the seventh with his first home run of the year, a 403-foot shot that carved a 12-6 deficit in half. Dillon Maples (Save, 8) stopped the Lugnuts' momentum right there, pitching the final two innings scorelessly, allowing one hit and striking out three. In the loss, the Lugnuts received 1 2/3 innings from southpaw Kirby Snead, allowing three hits and one run; a perfect frame from Daniel Young; and a scoreless inning from left fielder Austin Davis, who struck out two Cubs in the ninth. The finale of the three-game series is a 2:05 p.m. Sunday LEGOpalooza, a special Kids Day presented by Delta Dental featuring a LEGO Build Zone plus Play Catch on the Field before the game and Kids Run the Bases after the game. Cubs right-hander Casey Bloomquist (8-6, 2.72) starts against Lugnuts left-hander Ryan Borucki (8-4, 2.68). Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Another HR for Tellez, up to a .300 avg. It's too bad he will never hit advanced pitching, I had high hopes for him.
nextyear Verified Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 It is great to see Kevin Pillar is swinging the bat well (4 hits). This means that Pillar should be back with the Blue Jays on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see if Jose Bautista is back for a rehab stint this week.

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 so exactly how did you come to this conclusion and when did you lose your hope for him I was making fun of some Keith Law scouting reports that I don't agree with. I still believe that Tellez can be a starting 1B.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 When you've got your own rehab day and bobble head day in the same season, you've made it.
