Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Martin is such a f***ing winner... somehow manages to take almost every team he plays for to the playoffs. This coming from a guy dooming the Jays in every single post he made? Un-f***ing-real.

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 What a win. I had this one written off at the rain delay when I turned it off.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Man Russell really loves the Bronx... And how about that Tulo kid? Also Donaldson looked better at the plate in terms of pitch selection, still making weak contact tho
AdamLindsMom Verified Member Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Nothing to be scared of in either city. Media hype You are naive if you think that is the case. http://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/detroit-city/2015/10/01/fbi-murder-rates/73139988/ That would be equivalent to 1200-1300 murders per year in the city of Toronto.
AdamLindsMom Verified Member Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 There were 56 in Toronto in 2015 by the way
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 I usually listen to it for a good laugh. Sadly, a good portion of the posters here aren't any better. Just read through the first 10 pages of this thread and you'll see. A lot of people were just mocking others. The reverse jinx has been rallying cry on this board for years. It's just a different way to vent when things aren't going well. I'm sure we could not post and punch pillows instead. But sometimes it feels good to get it out. People see it as strictly being negative. I would rather be sarcastic than cry about Melvin Upton 15 games into his Blue Jays career. He's been forced into the lineup every day due to injury. He's unfortunately been exposed. It doesn't help when you switch leagues mid season and trying to do more than he's capable of. Now I can get angry about it or I can find a way to laugh about it. I would prefer not to get a headache.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Don't ******** and pretend you aren't one of the idiots I'm not bullshitting anybody? I just openly admitted to it. I probably do it more than anybody lol. I find it hard to believe that when everything is going to s*** people can just sit there and be fine. Either you aren't watching or you don't care that much. Like I said people have different ways of expressing themselves. It's not my problem that some people are so tightly wound up. That anger and stress are just things I don't want.

This whole thing is so contradictory. Are you claiming that you aren't one of the sky-is-falling types? But then at the same time you're criticizing the "sit there and be fine" crowd? But then others are "tightly wound up"? Lol I don't understand but I'm pretty sure you're the ringleader of the trolls who say we should start tanking when things are going bad.

Lol I don't understand but I'm pretty sure you're the ringleader of the trolls who say we should start tanking when things are going bad. It's not really contradictory at all. I'm not really sure how you came to that conclusion. Mind blowing actually. When you say sky is falling types. You're making the assumption that I actually say rediculous things because that's how I really feel. When I'm actually just f***ing around. I use recycled lines. That would be your first clue. When I'm angry I'm very direct as to what I'm angry about. Usually Gibbons bullpen usage. Or leaving his starter in to long. I actually don't think the sit there and be fine crowd exists. Instead of posting rediculous things on the internet you're likely having a tantrum of some sort in your living room. Yes when I say tightly wound. I don't understand why the littlest things set people off. It's like they are looking for reasons to be angry. Don't respond to it. It's so easy to ignore. All I'm saying is instead of getting upset I use sarcasm and mocking as a way to express myself. Ironically that pisses others off because they don't want to read it. But for me that's part of the fun because mocking is meant to piss certain people off. And it's entertaining. I can see how that could be annoying to people who just want to talk about Baseball. But everyone knows GDT is a bunch of rediculous instant reactions instead of well thought out thoughts for the most part.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Not buying it. You get legit crazy when the Jays start losing. That's fine you can think whatever you want. I was just trying to explain the thought process a little bit from my perspective. I only really get mad when we lose in a way that could have been prevented.

And as for your other points, I don't freak out about a loss or two because I know how the sport of baseball works. This team will lose at least 65 games. I understand that. The team will go through rough patches. I would only truly freak out if they lost like 7+ games in a row. Or if a huge injury happened.
