G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 He's making at least one more start. They haven't said if it will be his last for sure. Seems like it though. Booooooooooooooooo

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Where is Barnes on Blue Jay prospect lists? Don't recall seeing his name on any. With the value of relievers in MLB, surprising. This was updated prior to the deadline... No Barnes. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/news/prospects/index.jsp?c_id=tor
tercet Verified Member Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 I'm not high on Barnes as others. Anyone want to do a long term bet on this? I was thinking something like he will pitch under 150innings over his career

I was thinking something like he will pitch under 150innings over his career Despite the fact that he is a minor league reliever, he has had good results at every level including great results at AAA. I don't really see the need to s*** on his success after his first major league outing.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Reminds me of Neil Wagner. He will be good for a year or 2 and then get injured and be back in the minors looking to figure it out.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Based on..... what exactly? That's almost like saying Moises Sierra is like Nelson Cruz!
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Based on..... what exactly? Not saying their individual pitches are similar but I can see him having that type of career.

I was thinking something like he will pitch under 150innings over his career Is this supposed to be a bold stance or something? 150 innings is a lot, its hard to take the over on almost any reliever.

He will be good for a year or 2 and then get injured and be back in the minors looking to figure it out. Beyond the fact that you're not really providing much backup to this claim, you're saying this like it would be a bad thing. If he helps the team make the post-season and go on a good run for the next couple of years, I don't see a problem there. I will gladly take his services. Furthermore, I don't recall anyone in here planning his whole MLB/minors/whatever future out for him. People wanted to give him a chance and he delivered pretty nicely initially, no one was or is really expected lightning in a bottle.
