I think his announcing style is not really suitable for baseball..

I found him somewhat too talkative..

I know it is good to be talkative in fast paced game like basketball, but not for baseball.

And he is using the word 'unfortunately' too many times.. Maybe there are many unfortunate situations when he is doing play by play for the Jays, but still... That's too many.

 

Also, one more important point..

Since 2015, the Blue Jays lost 10 of their 13 games which Matt Devlin did play by play.

I remember last year he did play by play during the 9 game road trip before the All Star Break (3 each in Detroit, White Sox, and Kansas City) and they managed to win only three of them (One in each series)

Listening to Joe Siddall has got to make you crazy then! The guy never makes a mere comment....it's always a lecture that goes on and on ad nauseum. Tabler is worse.....he begins a thought without really knowing where it will take him so he wings it, makes up a few words, stumbles on a few more, and tries to create a point mid-flight.

Here's a Tabler quote from Monday's game with the Astros: "Bautista has 299 home runs...the next one will be..... #300"

 

 

I'd take Devlin with Buck doing the color commentary in a heartbeat over any crew that includes Tabler...... they have to get rid of Tabler!!!
