Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 We released him!!!!! Then the A's DFA'd him and we reclaimed him And he made the decision to come back. He almost signed with the Rays but said even back than he really wanted to play in Toronto. We will bring him back. I'm not even worried.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I love seeing the old highlights of Papi vs. the Yanks. I know we are supposed to hate the Red Sox and Yanks - but that comeback, combined with their first WS title in 100 years remains one of my favourite baseball memories. I'd fun seeing Papi - wish he could have some something memorable tonight ala Ripken in his final AS game. I hated them but i can't deny that they were iconic. Those 4 hour games with A-Rod, Jeter vs. Papi and ManRam were something else

If he gets his ear talked off by Ortiz he will go with Boston.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 It's hard to cheer for the AL and hate the Red Sox at the same time. But I enjoyed that double play.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 You don't see pitchers pulled mid-inning during the all-star game that often (we've seen it tonight). Also not sure I've ever seen double barrel action in the bullpen during an AS game either. It's not really a bad thing to see the managers treating it like a real game due to the HFA thing....

He almost signed with the Rays but said even back than he really wanted to play in Toronto. We will bring him back. I'm not even worried. If we come close to any of the offers he'll stay. Even if we don't match them. He loves this city as much as Bautista. I think he'll end up being the one that keeps Bautista here with him. I don't think anyone's picking him up based on this season so far. If Atkins can unload Martin somewhere that would relieve so much space to sign both. With that being said, Lucroy is on the market apperently. Wonder what it would take to take him

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 If he gets his ear talked off by Ortiz he will go with Boston. Yea come replace me in Boston. That's a great argument. When he slumps in April Boston media and fans will be killing him. Telling him to go back to Canada and for Ortiz to come out of retirement. I just don't see it to be honest. They would have to overpay. They already have a bunch of terrible contracts on the bench and in the minors.

I don't know, I want him to come back like all of us but he really got upset with the Jays not extending him before the season started. EE is a silent guy and he rarely causes a fuss, when he set that deadline and it came and went it pissed him off.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 What a squeeze job. I didn't know we were watching a Jays game!!
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 DP right here Sanchy. AVG w/ RISP blow .200 so let's do this
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I didn't know we were watching a Jays game!! We get screwed no matter what the situation it seems like.. LOL.

Yeah, I thought they were actually pretty easy to cheer for that season. Then they won and their fans became rather annoying.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Sanchez with some bad BABIP luck there.
