Seems a little unfair. He didn't even know the lyrics were changed when he was asked the question, he was probably caught off guard.

The media will not be fair to him. Just look at who run Escobar out of town.

A quick twitter search tells me the general opinion is that this is not true.

What a hackey, irresponsible article. He was trying to give a generic, boring "yeah I loved the anthem, man" answer, and didn't even notice the alteration. I'm sure has no idea about the fake "All Lives Matter" controversy, because he doesn't live on the internet, so of course he went with the generic "yeah, good message" answer when asked directly about it.

Poor guy is about to become a victim of outrage culture and sensationalist reporting :( I hope he refuses to apologize.

Yeah that's true, but Saunders should know better and he should have been more careful about what he was saying.

Could have just said "i'd rather not comment because I don't really know what happened"

No, he's not. This will blow over in no time. Most sports fans don't care about this and most people who care about this don't care about sports.

It's a set-up, too. Notice how nothing was written of whether or not anyone informed Michael about how the phrase is used. No one asked, or at least the article doesn't specify that anyone did, "are you aware of the controversy surrounding the statement?"

Complete narcissism by the author. Picked the lowest possible hanging fruit.

Probably. Does anyone remember what Gibby said that pissed everyone off earlier this year? Outside of this board, probably very few.

Yeah. It's pretty much a certainty from his responses that Saudners has no idea about the controversy, and just thought "whatever, All Lives Matter is a nice message, I'm not going to pile on".

Saunders was trying to get through another stupid interview giving cliche answers while really not paying much attention to the whole thing. The last thing he probably wants to do is stir up some controversy by taking a stand because the next day headlines would read "Saunders trashes band".

The dude had no idea what was even going on in the first place.

Oh my, look at how careful people have to be these days. I'm sure he doesn't understand the implication that this author is levying, probably doesn't give a s*** one way or the other. But yeah, because he said "yeah I agree that all lives matter" he's a problematic racist. Give me a break.

You gotta advance the agenda at all costs, man.
