Way to stick around everyone! True fans! Have a great night everyone. Jays game in less than 12 hours!

Did you fall asleep in the office?

I'd rather Martin stay healthy. At least let Thole start and if you need Martin to PH later in the game you think about doing it.

I don't think you realize how taxing catching is.

I do actually. I also know it's important for Martin to catch Sanchez. Sanchez is going to give up 5 bombs anyway so I suppose it's irrelevant.

Jamie Campbell needs to be off TV.

Its 6 hours past his bed time I would give him a pass today.

The wall is the best OF Colorado has ever had. Outside of Charlie Blackmon

If you guys had to wager, does Colorado still have a team 20 years from now?

yes. why wouldn't they? Ballpark is beautiful and they have demonstrated they have a great market if the team is competitive.

I don't think they win anything until they replace the current FO though.

You can't not own a team because the ball flies. Some kind of renovation project to build a retractable roof might be extremely beneficial. The problem is completing that project in 6 to 7 months during a Denver winter.

Wow this game! Stayed up for the first few innings, shut it off after the Gonzalez HR and Happ was pitching like s***. Of course just after that the offense exploded lol. Tulo is hitting like crazy right now, hope that continues.

It's also never too late for some boom boom boom

Man that game was awesome, admittedly I started feeling drowsy around when Kevin Pillar got nailed at the plate and almost completely shut off when EE dropped the ball from Tulo... Still great fun to watch, I remember a few years back staying up for late west coast games only to see us lose against LA or Oakland

Edit: Biagini looked awesome out there, and so did Grilli; what 1 hit 1 walk and 3 ks in 1 IP I think?

Of course they will, Coors Field is one of the cool anomalys in baseball, it's naturally beautiful. They just need a stronger pitching staff than the average teams staff and they're set. They can turn mediocre nobody's like Blackmon into all stars

Yeah, easily. The team is always garbage but the fans show up anyway.

Biggest problem has been Colorado not taking advantage of their home ballpark if anything.

They need to run studies on the physics of different pitches and how they are affected by the altitude. I've read an article where fastballs and sliders are least affected so if true it would probably be a smart idea to get pitchers who can rely on throwing a lot of fastballs and sliders, Jon Gray being a good start. Whatever other studies they could do, they should be done as well. Perhaps good defensive players are extra important with a heightened run atmosphere like that, for example. They should constantly be searching for whatever edge they can get in that ballpark.

But ownership isn't interested in running a team like that. They've basically had the same type of old-school GM for decades and it's not a very forward thinking front office. They view the ballpark as a curse but it doesn't have to be. If they maximized whatever benefits and/or mitigated whatever detriments Coors Field offers they could be playing to an advantage 81 times a season. Instead they field broken teams that don't properly take advantage of the quirky home park.
