Coming from a budding meteorologist here, that's not how PoP works. The storm over Denver is an isolated, large cell that could've easily avoided the city (and formed anywhere else along the lee-side of the Rockies).

 

PoP measures the chances of precip via probability, this case is not an overly high probability (unlike, say a hurricane or a nor'easter about to make landfall).

I doubt the A's sign him to an extension, he probably wants out. There is a zero chance we trade for him, but a decent chance we sign him in the off season.
