I think he likes being reunited with Martin as well. He pitched to a 13K/9, 2BB/9 to Martin in 2013 with 33 saves.

Went from why did we make the trade, giving up #5SP

 

To Saunders going down, potentially career ending injury

 

To Happ putting up monster numbers in Pits

 

To the Bluejays signing back Happ AND getting Saunders back playing better than ever (offensively)

 

So the BlueJays traded Happ for Saunders playing up to expectations and a better J.A. Happ lol

I would be happier if Grilli was available to pitch tomorrow in a closer game. But whatever we won. I'm happy about that. Grilli looks rejuvenated. I can't believe Atlanta decided to gift wrap him to us. He was pitching better when they traded him. Could have got better value if they held onto him. Makes zero sense. But I will credit Atkins for keeping his eyes and ears open.

 

Once we get Cecil back the pen should begin to take shape. Should still be targeting a power reliever come July though. I'm still holding out hope for Stilson making an impact at some point.
