Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Pretty exciting game. I think it was a pretty decent effort from the Jays with all things considered. Orioles have a stacked offense and executed better at the plate. It was really a game that came down to the bullpens and the O's got the job done. Tough loss, but not a badly played game. I don't think much of Tyler Wilson but the Jays just have too much dead weight in the lineup right now. He's the kind of pitcher this team would have devastated last year. They seem to be paying the price for rushing Travis up, hopefully it's something he can bounce back from though. As for Stroman, it would have been nice to have gotten a better performance from him but I felt there was a real possibility that the O's may have torched him this evening so not a bad effort with all things considered. He gave the team the opportunity to win the game. Should be a fun match-up tomorrow. Hopefully Estrada gives us another gem. Travis had a double tonight he is coming along.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 You could tell the decline was going to inevitable happen. Body has been breaking down and losing bat speed. I'm more worried about Edwin than Bautista. We got his prime years. If Boston wants to pay for his decline years let them. Although Ortiz has found th fountain of youth in Boston so who knows. I mean if we really have no chance to win we have some very good sell pieces. I mean Bautista, Edwin, Saunders, Dickey, and Cecil if he gets healthy. Maybe even Happ and Estrada but probably in the off-season. We could rebuild the farm system in a reasonable amount of time.
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Travis had a double tonight he is coming along. That's true. It just sucks cause so many guys are under-performing and there really isn't one guy on the team just tearing the cover off the ball. Smoaks been far from the biggest problem, but In my minds eye you need a really productive slugger manning first-base. Smoak has some pop and connects for a few dingers, but I don't think his bats productive enough to occupy that position. It was a similar problem that another kid coming up with the Jays had several years back... David Cooper?(i think) had a potential filled bat but couldn't hit enough homers to be worthwhile. The idea of acquiring Smoak was a good one in a " this kid would probably mash outta Safeco" way but in a do or die year he isn't the guy to be taking a chance on.

Smoak has been a decent bat and at least getting himself on base. You know who's not productive enough for his position right now? Edwin Encar-f***ing-nacion. Dude has been the biggest disappointment of the year.

Doesn't matter if u have below average production at first base or any position as long as you make up for it in other places. There is no "you need a mashing HR hitter playing 1st"
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Tulo says hello True, albeit Tulo isn't a DH..
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Tulo says hello Stroman waves as he flies by in his private jet...dissapointing millions

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Get us out of this Marco. O's stringing together some good contact.
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 That slow piece of s*** tagged up. Pillar does an awful job catching and throwing with momentum. He settles right under the ball.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Gonna need a whole lot more runs to win this
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Wieters is a giant behind the plate with Barney and Carerra up to bat lol.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 This offense needs to all go back to AAA lol. I have never seen such bad ABs with runners on base
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Edwin with a 103 wRC+ but dem RBIs. He has been in a ditch for a stretch longer than I can remember since E5 days.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 This offense needs to all go back to AAA lol. I have never seen such bad ABs with runners on base Agreed, just atrocious. At least JD and Bautista look like they're trying to go oppo, Edwin is just a blackhole of ignorance.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 God damnit ump, he had him there.
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Estrada is so much fun to watch! Most of the time.
