jb22 Verified Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Obviously extremely hypothetical and very likely to never happen anyway but reading this article made me wonder what you all think his current value is knowing he's going to start getting paid soon. Bogaerts + Betts + JBJ? More? Some of the above + prospects? Article - http://www.boston.com/sports/boston-red-sox/2016/05/11/mike-trout-trade-cost What's a generational talent worth in his prime?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Add 2/3 premium prospects and they'll pick up the phone as a starter Or have them take Pujols and his entire contract
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Angels will never trade Trout. They have money to keep him long time and be good again inba season Redsox fans need to stop dreaming
Nafro Verified Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Bogaerts, Betts, Anderson Espinoza, Andrew Benintendi, and Rafael Devers. You'd have to be a compete moron to trade Mike Trout. I heard some idiot traded Mike Trout in a dynasty league. What a douche!
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I don't get the Trout trade talk. Yeah the Angels aren't great but they have him for 4 more years after this one. There isn't any urgency to move him.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Red Sox would be insanely good at that point. Call up Benintendi and Moncada and they would be unstoppable.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I rather the Yankees get Trout
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I'd have to think they'd need to give up Benintendi+Moncada+Espinosa++ They could come up with a fair package without hurting their depth too much, methinks. Which is scary. Also plz don't trade Benintendi.

There isn't any urgency to move him. The problem is they have so many holes to fill to be competitive and their prospect system is literally the worst in the league. Its a no win situation. By the time they get the system back up to be able to help the team, those four years will be up. The bad contracts make them unable to surround him with top free agents to fill the holes. A really s***** situation to have the game's best player in.

They won't be good anytime soon and they could deal Trout for real impact talent that the Red Sox definitely do possess.

FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I would trade Trout, but I would want Price, Betts, Bogaerts, JB and their first for 2018 and 2019. They don't like it? I will keep Trout then...
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 You would be all for trading Trout, eh? Any trade involving Trout would be a loss in value for the Angels, but it is pretty wasteful to have the guy stick around for a team that will not be able to compete unless it signs a shitload of FA.

Next year same thing. Maybe when he's got 1 or 2 years left on his deal.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Package the contracts of Mike Trout & Pujols to the Red Sox for salary relief plus Bogaerts/Betts +- and the Angels will be in good shape Dat 10/5 tho

After his tens years is up he is signed for another ten years to be in their front office isn't he? Or would he just go back to the Angels after.

But still don't see it happening, the backlash from fans alone would give them pause.

Cyborg Verified Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Trout is worth what? $300-350M in surplus? Its a lot but hes certainly not untradable. Some team could come up with that value.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 The Cubs What the hell would the cubs trade? Schwarber + Russell + Soler for Trout? Probably not enough
baseballsss Verified Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 What the hell would the cubs trade? Schwarber + Russell + Soler for Trout? Probably not enough Do they have anything left in the system?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 What the hell would the cubs trade? Schwarber + Russell + Soler for Trout? Probably not enough They'd want more than those scrubs. Schwarber is all bat, no glove. Soler is 24 and has done jack s*** Russell is the only one who can do anything You know who they have to give up...
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Baez, Bryant and Russell - done deal.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Baez, Bryant and Russell - done deal. still too little. We're talking about Mike Trout here
