If you lower the bar a bit it becomes 5th (Nola + Kershaw). Still great.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Sanchez is the clear number one in the future, no? I'm hoping they both pitch like #1's next year
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) Who needs David Price? Happ 13M Estrada 13M Sanchez 0.5M Stroman 0.5M This year and next we have 4/5 of the AL's best starting rotation for 27M. Less than Price alone is getting from Boston Edited August 22, 2016 by G-Snarls

Yeah. I would assume that at last one of Happ/Estrada/Sanchez isn't as good next year. Then again I would expect that Stroman will be better than his overall 2016 so far.

Mets fans this year must be losing it.

All the more reason to like the deals our guys are on - not a whole lot of commitment if one of them shits the bed

Are you kidding, much better times than couple years earlier than that. I saw this Scott Richmond gif: https://gfycat.com/ShabbySatisfiedBird Totally forgot about him. Pulled him up. 2009 he had 138IP with 5.52ERA. Imagine we had a pitcher with that ERA now? Our SP was terrible: Tallet 5.32ERA Cecil 5.30 ERA Three guys in our rotation mid 5 ERAs. Unbelievable. lol

For some odd reason, I flashed back to the edition of the WBC where Richmond was Canada's "ace".

Scott Richmond was awful but he threw most of his innings in 2009. Dark times.

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 It's a good thing they didn't send him to AAA, eh? Let's be honest here, none of us saw this streak coming. This is the best he's looked in his entire career, even including MiLB. I admit I was wrong about the 2SM/Sinker. What he's doing with it and the Slider is fantastic and no one has that type of GB% and K% combo. It's unparalleled.

Pitching like a 2-3-win starter earlier, and and ace now. Talk of sending him down to AAA was very silly.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
