jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 If Dickey settles down and pitches 6-7 innings, I'll be happy.
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Same goes for the supposed bullpen meltdowns. The bullpen has pitched as they do, the other team has just come up with some big hits. Blame the other team. Two teams contribute to decisions. Except cecil has not had the same bit on his curve or command like he does when he gets going....he has not pitched like he usually does, do you even watch the games?
jackie Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 not even the broken bat hits are falling in wow
jackie Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 dickey always starts the season slow
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Except cecil has not had the same bit on his curve or command like he does when he gets going....he has not pitched like he usually does, do you even watch the games? The thing about Cecil seems to be that a lot of teams are laying off the curve, not sure if he is tipping his pitches or what but no one is swinging on those curves.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 How many full counts do we see from Dickey in the next inning? How many that go full from 0-2?
Patrick Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Can their be a cushier job in sports than that of being and AL manager.
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 The thing about Cecil seems to be that a lot of teams are laying off the curve, not sure if he is tipping his pitches or what but no one is swinging on those curves. The movement has not been there yet, like it usually does, nor has the command. I think he will be fine though.
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 He never throws his curveball for a strike. By some trick of fate, the other team just hasn't happened to swing at many of the ones in the dirt. It has nothing to do with him changing in any way. Or it's nothing but randomness... usually a safe assumption. False.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Pillar is annoying as a hitter.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Its funny because this happens every April. We all talk about how Dickey sucks and blah blah blah. Then come Mid May he turns into a really good pitcher for the rest of the season and by August we all say yeah he's not bad value for a number 3/4 SP. Maybe in the regular season, but not in the playoffs, as he has shown us last year VS the Royals. Unreliable as f***.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 dickey always starts the season slow That doesn't make it any better. Wins.... Or losses in April and September have the same value.
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Pillar is annoying as a hitter. He is like the dickey version of a hitter.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 That mookie betts rbi single was pure luck
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Pillar is annoying as a hitter. His swing is disgusting. Same with Travis's too; atleast he gets s*** done though.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Maybe in the regular season, but not in the playoffs, as he has shown us last year VS the Royals. Unreliable as f***. I see you conveniently forgot about his other start vs Texas where he dominated...
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I see you conveniently forgot about his other start vs Texas where he dominated... Dominated? Didn't he last 4 innings?
frizzer1 Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 4 years of Dickey is cruel and unusual punishment which no fan should be forced to endure..
frizzer1 Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Dominated? Didn't he last 4 innings? Only because Gibby panicked..

I swear half of the posters here a f***ing retarded. Dickey has always been like this. His stats will even out by the end of the season.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 This thread is embarrassing. Dickey has pitched very well this season. Just getting BABIP'd. Blame the Red Sox for making some good swings and driving the ball. The pitcher can only do so much. All I ask is for him not to just throw batting practice...but in most games I think teams hit worse in BP vs hitting against Dickey lol
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Only because Gibby panicked.. So he never dominated then, 4 innings 1 run and he left with runners on....then got shelled against KC.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 This is the gambler's fallacy. He will be okay this season because he is an okay pitcher and has been one so far. There's not much analysis that needs to be done. He's a frustrating pitcher that relies on a gimmick and takes up 2 roster spots.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I see you conveniently forgot about his other start vs Texas where he dominated... 4 innings and one ER is not exactly "domination". But he kept us in that game, I'll give him that. But still, he's not a reliable starter that you should trust in the playoffs.

His stats will even out by the end of the season. These GDT seem to have turned into what we all tried to get away from on the old board. I feel like a lot of the people here would fit much better over there. I should probably just learn to use the ignore feature a lot more than I do.
