I'm pretty sure we wouldn't get swept in Boston and even then...anyways just a food for thought.

 

Ideally we sweep O's and then they go and sweep the Yankees. Yankees will make that difficult. On the other hand Detroit has Atlanta. There are just too many reasons why facing Baltimore is better than facing Detroit.

Yeah the Tigers could close strong. Games against an Indians team that is mailing it in and then games against the Braves. What happens if we tie with the Tigers though? We won the season series 4-3 so I assume we get home field advantage.

This is where it is clear to me, that the constant negativity is (in all seriousness) an evolutionary advantage in some aspects of real life. If you anticipate everything negative that could happen, you take action to prevent it.

 

Of course in baseball, where there is nothing I can do to change things the negativity is kind of useless...However I hope Gibbons is (well I know Gibbons will be actually) thinking of every negative disastrous thing that could happen, even if we have a 3 game lead with 4 to go. Gibby would pitch Osuna with a 5 run lead and the bottom of the order coming up, he goes to price with a 7-0 lead... Gibby is obviously as neurotic and negative as anybody, thinking of all the horrible scenarios that could come up, so NO he is not going to pitch Dickey unless a wild card is clinched.

 

If we win tonight that's great. I would never dream of dropping the third game. It would be beyond stupid. Even if we didn't get swept by Boston, having to fight that series hard, having to use Osuna a couple of times and maybe even Sanchez would not be good going into a wild card game.

If Toronto has the WC1 locked up, they'll be pitching Dickey too push back Sanchez for the WC game, Gibbon's has already implied this. Plus, pitching Dickey on the last game of the year with no implications, does not mean they'll be conceding the game. Players always play to win, period. Whoops... thought we were talking about the last game against Boston... The Dogg's an idiot, that post is f***ing terrible.

I think it depends if home field for wild card is guaranteed. If he puts in the scrubs and we end up playing on the road he leaves himself open for criticism.

 

Once the games really have no implication what soever, Smoak and Pompey and Dickey and Tepara should have at it.

I don't think they are the same dude. The IP info and respective emails suggests as much. If they can't both be the dogg than we're probably wrong about one of them. When did RealAccountant is the dogg start? Did he ever own up to that? I think he might actually be (name redacted) and puphood would be the dogg.

Probably just trying to save face. He swears on the mound all the time, he's thrown at guys himself (6 game suspension for it), he's chirped to other team's dugouts. Wouldn't surprise me the least.

If we reach a point where wins and losses no longerr affect anything (like we have WC 1 locked up with home field but can't win the division), then rest guys for sure
