Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 I guess you were one of the guys that didn't watch last nights game.!!!!!!!! Are you able to wrap your head around the concept of sample size? One game doesn't mean jack s***. Also if you want to be taken seriously at all in a baseball forum, should probably take the time to learn simple baseball terminology. "SB" does not stand for second base.
UWHabs Verified Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 After Altuve, Travis is arguably the next best 2nd baseman in the game right now.

But everyone here has their heads up their ass that is why they cannot see Travis poor play in field. Again JMHO

Small sample size and all, but Travis has been worth 10 UZR/150 at 2B this year, Barney has been worth 2.6/150 this year. Of players with at least 500+ innings at 2B, Travis currently ranks 3rd in UZR/150. Career, Barney is 11.7, so admittedly he's probably a better defensive player than Travis. But Barney is a well below average hitter, while Travis is a well above average hitter.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 I just wanna say Aaron Loup looked really great yesterday. If he pitches like this and used properly I think he's gonna be a huge key for this team. Obv it is very small sample size buuut he had a couple more mph on his pitches and looked like he had great control. In his last AAA stint he also had 13ks to 1 walk in 8.2 innings and serving a .333 BAA on a .522 BABIP. Maybe I'm looking way too much into this but man we really need a lefty and if he can turn the corner..

He's not even a complete LOOGY as his metrics vs righties aren't bad either.

He's gonna be back up here september (i assume he's going down for either Bautista or Sanchez), I hope he can prove to stay on the postseason roster

He's every bit as deserving to pitch late innings as Benoit is.

Who is going to help this team more over the course of a full season? It's Travis by a mile.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Lineup's out: Bautista Donaldson Edwin Martin Tulo Pillar Upton Carerra Barney Goins optioned, loup stays up! Travis out for 3rd straight game tho
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Damn, Travis's knuckle taking a bit longer than they thought. Hopefully it doesn't become a lingering issue like Edwin's finger last year.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Lineup's out: Bautista Donaldson Edwin Martin Tulo Pillar Upton Carerra Barney Goins optioned, loup stays up! Travis out for 3rd straight game tho Had a splint on his hand the last game he played, I'd rather he rest up and get healthy before September and the potential playoffs myself. Though I do take it as a good sign that Goins was option and Travis wasn't DLd or Loup not optioned which means he's likely healthy enough to play in a pinch.

LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 A f***ing knuckle?!? Rub some dirt on it and get over it! Meh, it can make a difference when gripping a bat, and its also on his throwing hand. We're going to need him down the stretch, there's no point in making the injury worse. Better to just let it fully heal.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Damn, Travis's knuckle taking a bit longer than they thought. Hopefully it doesn't become a lingering issue like Edwin's finger last year. He only took a cortisone shot so all that does is provide relief not heal anything, it will probably linger, but almost everyone on the team is playing with something hurt. I don't know how JD's ankles and thumb are still functioning And now that I think about it he might have been ready to play today (Goins was optioned so one less backup IFer if something goes wrong) but because we have Bautista back we can afford to keep Travis on the bench for one more game
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Lineup's out: Bautista Donaldson Edwin Martin Tulo Pillar Upton Carerra Barney Goins optioned, loup stays up! Travis out for 3rd straight game tho Zeke is in for Saunders as well. Lame.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Zeke is in for Saunders as well. Lame. Saunders is probably just getting rested. Not exactly ripping the ball right now anyways might as well have someone who can handle the bat with speed down in the order

I would like to think that's the start of something.

You're probably right, I just don't like his makeup at all. He looks like he's going to get hurt on every swing or everytime he's tracking a ball. I hope he finishes strong and i never see him in a Jays jersey again lol
