Those 2 are big holes to fill but so far this year they have provided only 3.3 WAR in 2 roster spots and we have 50 wins at the AS Break. With the money we would save in not signing them there is room to backfill that loss. I see 3 years as the max risk we could take on them, and even that scares the hell out of me with their expected AAV. Have to say though that if Jose doesn't come back with a vengeance, his value will drop big time. DL/lost production/age = risk

The big argument for a 5 year deal some were making was how well he kept himself in shape and that that would allow him to beat aging curves. The guy has had hip, shoulder and now toe issues of all things.

In fairness, the toe issue is a freak sort of accident. Was the hip issue not a result of a collision as well? I'm with you on the shoulder thing, but Jose seems to be a guy in exceptional shape who is running into some bad luck. I'm still not advocating a major contract though.

Don't really get the fuss on Moss. Hes having a decent power season don't think he will come as cheap as others suggest as well. Definitely don't want to commit anymore than 2 years.

We'll see.

How many times have we seen lesser arms give us fits.

Lol exactly I don't get excited about this anymore.

I think its a certain type of person that will entertain Canada as a destination for free agency. Some of the athletes who have turned down offers from Toronto in the major sports are of the ignorant kind. I remember comments like "they dont get ESPN" and " My kids won't learn about american history in school" not to mention the classics "Canadian health care is awful, I want the best for my family" and " The weather is too cold" (NBA all-star game cold snap didnt help that out at all)

This negative perception might be changing slightly, but for the most part if its an ignorant tool of a person a team is targeting, odds are in favor of his ignorance winning.

I always got a laugh out of that one, considering we live much longer, have better overall health, and are more innovative in research (for our size).

I guess that's my point. Shoulder, toe, hip...no amount of yoga is going to slow down much the beating of playing RF for a 36-37 year old. Which makes him a DH and any long term expensive deal like he wants too risky.

Hopefully he's learned his lesson and will put more effort into stretching his toes.

No kidding. What memories. Gm 6 made us endure endless "the Royals way" comments. Martin scorched a ball with 2 on. I think that JD liner to 3rd for an out have an exit V of 110. No luck.

The difference between 2-2 and 3-1 against Davis is everything. 2016 is a big year for us.

Revere 2015 stats:

After 2-2 Count OBP .316, OPS .660

After 3-1 Count OBP .605 OPS 1.150

Hopefully 2016 is a big year, Ill try and go to every playoff game, home and away. Im planning to unload my World Cup of Hockey tickets to pay for it.

I still don't understand the big deal about Bautista pimping his home run that was a potential series winner for a team in a 22 year playoff drought. It would have been different if the Blue Jays were already leading 10-0 when he hit the home run since that would just be bad edicate to rub it in to an opponent when you're already beating them into the ground. But, that gave the Jays a lead after the events of the prior inning. It was a very close, emotional, and sea-saw series clinching game. I know as a Jays fan since 1999, I enjoyed it all the way down here in bumble f*** Missouri!!!

Speaking of which, remember Albert Pujols staring down his home run against Brad Lidge of the Astros in the 2005 NLCS when he hit a come from behind home run over the railroad tracks at Minute Maid Park to keep the Cardinals alive in the series? Home run celebrations happen in the playoffs when it's a big moment, Texas is still butt hurt about arguably the most famous choke job (2011) in baseball history!!! "We will see you...tomorrow night!!"

You know we're fiending for baseball when I ask something stupid like this: Over the years, there has been some pretty cool walk-up music for several Jays players. I never was much of a fan of hometown STL Nelly, but hearing Delgado come up to bat in a crucial situation to "Hot in Herre" seemed to intensify the moment. I'm not going to list all of my favourite ones, but a few from the catcher position I enjoyed were Darrin Fletcher "Scar Tissue" by RHCP, Gregg Zaun "Limelight" by Rush, and Tom Wilson "Mother" by Danzig. Also, it was funny hearing T.I./Rihanna "Live Your Life" before Vernon Wells came up to bat to inevitability pop up or chop the ball to the left side of the infield for a predictable out!

If YOU were an mlb player and got to choose just ONE walk-up song, what would it be? I would pick the beginning to "Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult.

I want the players to prank Barney and unbeknownst to him change his walk up music to I love you, you love me.

lol... that'd be Gold. I wonder if it has happened already, with his other teams.

We made it boys. Baseball time.

At least I hope everyone did.

It was touch and go for a while, but some good scotch helped me through the dark times.

Rich Hill has been scratched from tomorrow's start. We will instead face Daniel Mengden. Nice break.

I wonder if there is something in the way of a trade happening with Hill?

Oh yeah, some classic 10pm baseball alright!!!

I will always have something against these games in Oakland because of the Brandon Inge walkoff grand slam.... I'll never forget that smh

Well we know hes going to get traded its just a matter of time. It's probably precautionary incase of a trade. You don't want something minor to grow into something problematic. He will be traded in the next couple of weeks.

Kind of like Matt Boyd was a nice break for us in a spot start. It should be good for us but lets hope they get it done between the lines tonight. So glad the break is over.

What happened to comtrollable players? The Reds must be asking a lot for Bruce

They shouldnt since Jay Bruce is a pretty bad baseball player

Rumours swirling that Jays are interested in Carlos Beltran! I'd be all for this move. Have JB DH and EE @ 1st.

Beltran is just as bad of a defender in RF as Bautista maybe even worse. Only way I see them acquiring Beltran is if they traded Bautista for a lot more than they gave up for CB and played him at DH.
