THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Blair and Barker sound especially retarded on BC today. Barker said Stroman needs to throw MORE sinkers and less breaking balls lol. Blair just said Randy Wolf's season in AAA last season is comparable to Wade LeBlanc's this season lol.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 20, 2016 Author Posted June 20, 2016 Damn After that great run all I wanted was to win 1 of the last 2 against Baltimore Sucks that they couldn't take one
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 20, 2016 Author Posted June 20, 2016 Was there a PTBNL in the Tulo deal or did we get nothing in this trade? No one has said what for. Prob cash.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Bring Reyes home for free Yea, just what we need, another DH.
Hal Johnson Verified Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Yea, just what we need, another DH. Reyes will be the new Colabello.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 No one has said what for. Prob cash. Can Draft cap space be acquired or just international cap space?
flafson Verified Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Can Draft cap space be acquired or just international cap space? It can be acquired only if it's from the supplemental rounds. So if small market teams "won" those picks, they can trade them away.
baseballsss Verified Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Do you Qualify Dickey as well, since I keep reading it is a very very thin free agent market? Nah. He will accept it no doubt. I you really want him you can get him for less than 16 mil.

I'm baffled as to why we don't have a thread dedicated to the stupid things the experts & broadcasters say on a daily basis.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Pretty scary that JD is even better than last year. Walking more, striking out less and hitting for more power. He's hitting way fewer ground balls for more line drives and flyballs. All the while playing excellent defense. Outside of Trout he's easily been the best player in baseball the last 4 years.

I wonder how much an extension would cost in the offseason. 10/250?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Is Bautista's golf tournament today? Lets hope he stays hydrated.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 21, 2016 Author Posted June 21, 2016 At least our division rivals helped us out tonight. Red Sox lost in extras. Orioles went all the way to Texas to play one make up game, built a 3-0 lead and blew it. Rangers win 4-3.

Let's hope we take it to the D-Bags these next two games before another off day on Thursday.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 I wonder how much an extension would cost in the offseason. 10/250? Does that include the year he is already under contract? I'm sure the Blue Jays explored signing him to a long term contract last offseason so I doubt they change their mind this year when the cost surely went up and he is a year older. Although maybe Rogers increases the budget by a large margin with all of the success they have had this year. In that scenario I could see the Jays trying to sign him long term.

Man, AA will be able to live off that trade forever. One of the, if not THE, most lopsided trades ever.

You can only say this for the past and immediate future. When Barretto hits his prime I bet many on here will be saying wtf did we do.

When Barretto hits his prime I bet many on here will be saying wtf did we do. We made a completely reasonable trade for an MVP candidate during a playoff window, and all it cost was two fringe starters, a post-hype slighty-above-league-average infielder, and a good prospect.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 One of the, if not THE dumbest and most uninformed things I have ever read. How? It was. Josh is 6-7 win player and so far the rest combined don't add up to half that.

He can't be a good prospect. Boxcar says this is more lopsided than the Babe Ruth trade.

I guess the Ruth trade probably does go down as the most lopsided in the history of the game.....never to be approached. I think dumping VDub's contract on the Angels has to be right up there as well (although hard to compare to the JD one).

It was a great trade, but it will only be one of the most lopsided ever if Barretto doesn't pan out. What if he wins 3 MVPs? Won't be lopsided then.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 95 wRC+ 108 xFIP- Theyre actually well below average so far. Just super lucky. Scary thing is they'll be even better if some of these things happen: - Fielder and/or Moreland start hitting like they did last year - Profar and/or Gallo's prospect status starts to translate in the majors - Darvish gets healthy and dominates - Choo gets healthy and plays like last year Then again - Ian Desmond's going to slow down and their rotation is generally a mess. Good bullpen though.
