Shapiro put big emphasis on this morning's interview that he never pitched more than 130, so who knows what that means.

 

He will start in the pen and then move to the rotation mid season when Floyd's arm explodes or needs arise, is my best guess.

I think Smoak will beat Collabello out for the 1B job by the start of the season.

 

Not as long as Gibby is managing. He loves him some Cola.

 

With Edwin's timetable messed up, they might be playing both to start out with, though.

I heard Fister was up throwing 90+ again...how's he look?

 

No idea what his velo was but was good vs RHH and terrible vs LHH. He was getting some groundballs and whifs on the fastball but lost his command at times.

My resolution this year is to be easier on Buck after experience the clusterf*** that was Harold Reynolds. But this is the line of the Spring so far:

 

"Randy Choate isn't gonna go out there and be Brett Cecil. He's Randy Choate."

Wow the Astros shifted Smoak so there wasn't one player on the left side of 2nd base.

 

Interesting point - I was at 2 ST'ing games and I didn't see the "shift" used once - which I thought was pretty odd as ST'ing would seemingly be a great time to work on that type of thing....
