glory Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 It could be because of the cash involved as well. Maybe the Jays want the difference covered, while the Reds will only pay a portion, or something along those lines. Then again, Buster Trollney isn't exactly the best source for anything baseball related.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 We have no idea if its the medical though. Its more likely the prospects going back. I would like to think the Blue Jays wouls have non tendered Saunders if his medicals were that alarming. The point was that we have no idea about anything, and celebrating a deal falling through is silly when we don't know what the deal is.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Bruce is 28; 29 on opening day. Declining is most likely true, but not aging. He's not aging?

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Lol going to guess Saunders... Anyone else get the feeling if money was included in the deal, we would have heard about it by now?

King Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN 10s10 seconds ago Another source: The proposed Reds/TOR/LAA deal had traction, but hit a snag during the medical review portion of the talks. For now: Dead. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 18s18 seconds ago Hearing same as @JeffPassan and @Buster_ESPN: Bruce trade held up due to medical concerns with at least one of players involved. Goodnight Sweet Prince
glory Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 An injury concern for someone involved and it's not Bruce. I'm drawing a blank.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 This team really needs to add an OF before the season starts.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Saunders said he feels good the other day, so its not him
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I wonder if Saunder's knee is healthy enough to hit? Sure sounds like he won't be in the OF anytime soon.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Saunders said he feels good the other day, so its not him Best shape of his life?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Saunders said he feels good the other day, so its not him He also said that last year when he could barely move. A player will always say he's good even if thats not the case.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 This team really needs to add an OF before the season starts. Why do you hate Dalton Pompey so much? Do you not like 23 year olds with intriguing skill sets and good projections?
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Jeff Blair @SNJeffBlair 24s24 seconds ago Sounds like issue with Saunders physical according to @Buster_ESPN and others. Deal could be dead. Rejoice, all ye Saunders fans!!!!$ Blair cannot be stopped.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Why did the Jays even tender Saunders?
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 This is not what I kneeded to read tonight.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 So now that we pretty much know that Saunders' medical records are s***, we kind of need another Left fielder.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Why did the Jays even tender Saunders? to avoid a sprinkler based lawsuit
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Why do you hate Dalton Pompey so much? Do you not like 23 year olds with intriguing skill sets and good projections? I like Dalton Pompey. It's the tire fire after him that's scary.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 This was my fear when trading Ben Revere. Expecting Saunders to stay healthy was a pipe dream.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 @SNJeffBlair I won't even mention the possibility that Bruce could replace Jose Bautista in RF next year if he leaves. Cheaper, too ... Replaces Bautista in RF next season and then they can put that money back into the pitching staff, hope this happens. Blair's BJMB account outed.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 even though this is still just a rumor, Ive lost some respect for Shatkins for even entertaining the notion of adding a s*** ballplayer like Bruce
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Now you kind of really have to feel bad for Saunders. He gets traded from a team he really wanted to be a part of only to have his medical records be the reason the trade falls through. All of this because the Blue Jays provided unsafe playing conditions. Does anyone know if he could sue them over it? I mean if his career is cut short you could argue the injury costed him millions of dollars.

The sprinkler incident is entirely Blue Jays fault.
Slugger Verified Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 This is a s***** situation now with the deal dying because if Saunders health. So, now we don't get a bad power hitting healthy LF because our LF is damaged goods?
