If the Jays win this year, Alex will be given the credit. And since Shapiro wants a little love too, he's hoping that Bruce can hit a walk off in a playoff game.

So Bruce/Pompey platoon in left? Would Bruce be comfortable in left since he's never played it? As long as no prospects of significant upside are going the Reds way, I'm fine with the deal. Bruce for essentially a 1 year 10 million deal when you minus out Saunders contract and option is a worthy risk.

Believe it or not, there is value in having a legit 25-30 HR threat added to your line up, regardless of the weak wRC+. 26 HR & 35 doubles from the left side will add more overall value than Saunders could provide. Paying no more than $5Mil for Bruce would be an upgrade, imo. A legit power LHB batting sixth or seventh will make the line up better on several aspects. This should only be viewed as a 2016 move.

not nearly as much skepticism as before. seriously read back in this thread and the other bruce one. its amazing how much things can change. its kind of funny.
