intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 If it weren't for the casuals I'd never have gotten to feel the dome literally shake during a Saturday afternoon game vs. the Rays. Worse, I'd never get to hear 50,000 people shake up Johnny Cueto. I also can't really blame casuals when I'm pumping my fists at a Raptors win despite not knowing any players on the team they just beat, or on any other team.

We were both at those games That last home stand against TB was incredible. It kicked off with both Price and Archer getting lit up and ended the 3 games with a JD walk off under a bright blue fall sky. That was sooooooo fun.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Gotta say, tickets are pretty reasonably priced for the Home Opener and for Canada Day on StubHub. Only downside is paying in USD. Though still the prices listed aren't that absurd. Just managed to snag a pair off the Jays site for the Sunday July 3rd game (Tulo bobblehead Day) in Sec 128, Row 16. Hoping still to get something decent for July 10th and August 14th.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Lord help us - keep me away from opening day. 45,000 drunk bandwagon fans who aren't even watching the game and 5,000 diehards who will regret going.... Game 2 is the one to aim for. I hope that I can be part of the 5000 would be my first home opener I have went to! I saw 3rd base tickets going for $115 USD, not bad at all

(or you're only doing 500 level?) A flex pack interested me. Tried getting them through a friend who works at Rogers since I'd get them at 50% off though they didn't have access to buy them right in December. I've checked flex packs through the Jays sites, and most of the Sunday giveaway games aren't available through a flex pack unfortunately anymore.

Slugger Verified Member Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 I bought tickets for a few games earlier than I normally do, so I have some questions. I bought them on Feb 9 without even knowing about them going on sale the next day via Ticketcenter, how could I purchase them before they went on sale? And how come I haven't been charged for them yet? Why am I dumb also?
Peter Verified Member Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Hi there, my first post, so hope I get things right. I am coming over from the UK in July and hope to go to most Seattle and San Diego matches. I like to get an end of row seat due to a painful knee but the choose your own seat seems to be broken on Ticketmaster. Anybody know about this? Is there at least a map which shows individual seats? Secondly, I thought it might be fun to watch a game from one of the 200 area bars. Is that possible? Could I buy any old ticket to do that? Thanks for your help. Peter Newbury Berks

Peter Newbury Berks Welcome to the board! If you go on ticketmaster now you can choose your own seats for the Seattle and SD series in July. Ticketmaster turns off the "choose your own seat option" when volume is high - ie. right before the games or when the tickets just went on sale. In regards to the 200 area bars if your referring to the west jet flight deck....yes anyone with any ticket can go there buttt you would need to be one of the first through the gate to get a decent view and unless you have a strong bladder or you are with a big group would not recommend. Buy a decent aisle seat and enjoy the games.

Peter Newbury Berks Hi Peter, As my name may suggest being a (recently emigrated) brit, I hope you have a great trip, I have been visiting for games since 2006 but made a greatly timed decision to arrive for good prior to last season. Last year, the 12 'Alomar' bar was open on a first come first served basis even if you had the worst tickets in the stadium, I am unsure whether this will be true next season but the view from the front seats in there is terrific - I believe the only thing you have to do is keep drinking during your stay in there, if you are on your own you may have to ask the kind folks next to you to look after your empty seat though when getting a refill or visiting the toilet. If it is your first trip, a tour of the skydome is a snip at around $15, I got to step on the hallowed turf before it was fully fitted, sit in the dugouts and clubhouse last year. Oh and if you have difficulty buying the tickets via ticketmaster as I invariably did for Blue jays as well as some US NFL games, you should call the club directly as my UK based credit card would often not be recognised by tickemaster. Maahfaace Verified Member Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Shapiro was on MLB Network radio yesterday and when asked about Bautista and Edwin, he said that success in 2016 and seeing more revenue growth would go a long way towards affording them / getting approval to pay for them. See how he used logic and common sense there? This guy's a pro! One thing Shapiro is good at is good ole media posturing. He has zero intention of signing either guy to a contract extension, he knows damn well that both will be priced out of Rogers' budget come season end (more so if the NL adopts the DH rule for 2017). He's perfectly content qualifying them both and getting 2 draft picks, anything he says otherwise is just to save face with the Jays fanbase.

Shapiro might be mindful of the possibility of attendance crashing under his watch and being run out of town by an angry passionate mob.

jc10 Verified Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Hey everyone, I have 2 season tickets in Section 209, Row 1 on the aisle. If you are looking for tickets that won't break the bank, but still provide an excellent view of the game, please PM me. I have tickets to all games, minus the Home Opener and would prefer to sell to true Blue Jays fans.

I've always preferred sitting behind the plate, and this is pretty much the opposite. I feel like the outfield is for people who really want to catch a home run, which is something I've never understood. http://aviewfrommyseat.com/photo/25880/Rogers+Centre/section-209/row-3/seat-105/ http://aviewfrommyseat.com/photo/47266/Rogers+Centre/section-209/row-1/seat-9/
jc10 Verified Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 No need to hate, man. Just giving people who don't want to spend $70+ a ticket an option, that's all. You are entitled to your opinion.

You are entitled to your opinion. Not trying to offend. Ya I'm just curious... I'd take 500 level behind the plate over 100 or 200-level seats in outfield. I did for that matter (I have 524 row 1). I actually find the Jays' price map quite unusual. Take Fenway Park for example-- cheapest seats are bleachers-- they don't divide into 100/200 level, but those seats are right where yours are. On the other hand, seats equivalent to 524 row 1 are some of the most expensive (partly because it's a luxury seat zone, but clearly you try to put the luxury zones in places that provide the best sightlines).
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Seats in CF are actually really good. I'd much rather sit there than down the baseline where your seat isn't even facing the plate. 200 Level is nice too since there is more legroom.

I guess everyone likes something different-- just noticed that tons of fields discount outfield vs. other locations. Also most of the "action" takes place within 120 feet of the plate, so being close to it has always been my preference.

Unless you are directly behind home plate in 122 or in the TD Zone you don't get a great view of balls and strikes. Section 101 you get a pretty good view of the strikezone. I've sat in behind the dugout and while its cool to be that close to the action you really don't get a good view.
