Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 You're analysis is based heavily on defense obviously. The offence Bautista / EE create is off the charts. I personally wouldn't place EE ahead of Bautista either. Tulo finding his offensive norm, or close to it, is key. It really depends on how each of them play next year. Will Tulo go back to his career norms? Will Bautista start showing signs of aging on the offensive side? Etc.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I think EE is already showing the signs of a decline with his contact rate stats. JB on the other hand really hasn't shown it.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Bautista takes really good care of himself. He isn't going to decline as people think. Tulo is going to decline way faster. His bat looked nothing special last year. Put of Coors field I don't know about him going forward. I would look to trade Tulo and let EE go. Hang on to Jose.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I had a dream yesterday that Tulo suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in the 2nd game of the year. Bleh

Also, defense is a thing.

Effit Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 can we move jose back 3rd base Great idea, and let's put EE in right field and DH Donaldson while we're at it. This could work.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Obviously the Jays can only sign at most one of these guys. I have the feeling both of them are walking. Edwin in Boston makes too much sense.

Edwin in Boston makes too much sense. It definitely makes sense for them to stay in the division so they get max opportunities to burn their former team.

Praxis Verified Member Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 (edited) Lmfao that last article especially was f***ing stupid. Couldn't have read more like some biased random casual having a hissy fit. Retard was probably all on board the "fire AA" train before June, too. I've just stumbled across this article from Matt Swartz who argues that Donaldson should be getting $12m: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/01/arbitration-breakdown-josh-donaldson.html Click bait? Retard? Rage Quit? The only one who should be rage quitting this forum is me frankly, for having the gall to suggest that we look ridiculous and cheap by shortchanging the reigning AL MVP. Chfan Verified Member Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Bautista takes a small hometown discount, signs for 19-20M, but we give him term and let him retire here. That's how I see it go.
