G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 TSN.ca Ricciardi: Disconnect between Jays' owners, front office Former Blue Jays GM and current Special Assistant to the GM for the Mets, JP Ricciardi joins Matt and Gareth to discuss the Blue Jays' off-season budget and his experience working with the team's ownership.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 Recommend skipping to 1:44 because the opening pleasantries are long and annoying
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 JPR is a tool. Can't say as I miss him at all. I'm not sure what his objective is here.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 JPR is a tool. Can't say as I miss him at all. I'm not sure what his objective is here. Yes I don't know why he is talking about this now Says "Rogers didn't get to know me at all, and I'm pretty sure they never got to know Alex, either"
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 Jeez, he sounds annoyed about his time in Toronto
Thomas Malthus Verified Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Rogers doesn't know me. I missed my calling as Jays GM.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 JPR is terrible lol. He reminds me of Brian Collagello who always comes on to radio and taking credit for the Raptors. Although maybe TSN pushed him to saying this since its their rival. Haha you never know in this business...
Nafro Verified Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Jeez, he sounds annoyed about his time in Toronto I know I'm annoyed by his time in Toronto. Yes former employee tries to stir up s***. This is the first time this has ever happened.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 At least he didn't say that he would have signed Price.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Funny that this is on TSN
Nafro Verified Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Why is JPR, who works for the New York Mets discussing the Toronto Blue Jays off-season budget? What is an off-season budget anyway?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 Funny that this is on TSN Would have been awesome if it was with Jeff Blair on Sportsnet
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Would have been awesome if it was with Jeff Blair on Sportsnet It would be something Marty York would pick up
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 JPR is a tool. Can't say as I miss him at all. I'm not sure what his objective is here. He's answering the question. Why do you guys get so upset about someone sharing their opinion. He's talking about his time in Toronto and I don't mind hearing it. Many of us have no respect for Rogers...and this is just another piece of info that shows us that our gut is possibly right for thinking that way.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 He's answering the question. Why do you guys get so upset about someone sharing their opinion. Many of us have no respect for Rogers...and this is just another piece of info that shows us that our gut is possibly right for thinking that way. Who is really upset? I could give a s*** about anything JPR says to anyone ever. I just don't know what his objective is. That's all. Yawn.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Who is really upset? I could give a s*** about anything JPR says to anyone ever. I just don't know what his objective is. That's all. Yawn. I don't see any objective other than answering the question. If he called up and said 'I want to share some things about my time in Toronto and Rogers' then that looks fishy. But this interview? No. He didn't say anything most of us weren't already thinking or knew.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Rogers doesn't even like baseball.

If he called up and said 'I want to share some things about my time in Toronto and Rogers' then that looks fishy. But this interview? No. He didn't say anything most of us weren't already thinking or knew. Ya. That's fine. I have an immediate JPR default bias.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Ya. That's fine. I have an immediate JPR default bias. I despise JPR. Arrogant, hated his draft philosophies, and is a liar...Although...If JP knows the truth, it's not a lie.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Still love JPR. He just didn't hide his arrogance as much as AA
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Wasn't it Beeston's job to communicate between Rogers and the FO?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Wasn't it Beeston's job to communicate between Rogers and the FO? Under Ricciardi? That would have been Godfrey.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Hmmmmmm http://www.tsn.ca/radio/toronto-1050/ricciardi-disconnect-between-jays-owners-front-office-1.407621 They asked for JP's opinions and he gave, what I thought, was a pretty honest and insightful answer. I'm not sure what people are so upset about. It's not like he ran the team into the ground or anything either.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Under Ricciardi? That would have been Godfrey. Oooooooh right I forgot. f*** Paul Godfrey. No wonder Riccardi's experience with Rogers was s***. I liked what JPR said in the interview, but why is TSN so negative about the Jays? Is it the Rogers/Bell rivalry? lol
Thomas Malthus Verified Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 What would the reaction be if this was a player instead of JPR and a GM instead of Rogers?
SAAviour Verified Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Didn't listen. JP is an idiot. Who's worse, JP or Ash...I think I'd take Ash back before JP.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Didn't listen. JP is an idiot. Who's worse, JP or Ash...I think I'd take Ash back before JP. You'd bring back the GM who mentored Dave Stewart?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Didn't listen. JP is an idiot. Who's worse, JP or Ash...I think I'd take Ash back before JP. Ash was one of the worst GM's of all time (yes and I stand by that!). JP wasn't anywhere near that bad.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I agree Ash sucked. Was a different time for the team though. And JP probably is a better choice, actually definitely is...but I really don't like him.
