Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs and Dodgers don't need a 1B The Red Sox will once they see HamRam there in Spring Training. Good thing he's at winter ball learning the new position....oh wait.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 You can't just ignore 2014 when he put up 0.8 fWAR. Oh I'm not...the original post said 2 good year and one bad one. They weren't 2 good ones, they were 2 great ones. Is there any possibility the ADHD drugs mean that much to him?

Statman Verified Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Is there any possibility the ADHD drugs mean that much to him? ABSOLUTELY!!! A very real possibility.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Hanley might actually be lazier than the other Ramirez who used to play for Boston.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Pretty sure Hanley wanted to play winter ball but the Sox didn't want him to.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Hanley might actually be lazier than the other Ramirez who used to play for Boston. I think this is true. I think he absolutely hates playing beesbol...
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Manny was so brutal "manny being manny"
DerangedIdoit Verified Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Os pulled back their 7/150 offer to Davis. Watch Davis not even get that now. It really didn't seem like there was anyone else bidding for him besides Baltimore. I can totally see the Cardinals and Astros being deep into conversation with him. Astros might not want to go with Singleton at 1B next season.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I really want him to resign with the Orioles. I want that franchise to be crippled like the Phillies were with Howard. He's dumb for not taking the 7/150 offer.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 By good you mean great right? 7.0 & 5.6 WAR seasons are more than merely good. Perhaps my sarcastic meter is broken again? Elite for 2, scrub for one...
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 You can't just ignore 2014 when he put up 0.8 fWAR. Risky, sure.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Judging by the dumpster diving we're busily engaging in again I'm not sure we could afford 8/20m. 7/150m is not off the charts crazy, 8/200m is insanity; just ask Seattle who've been Cano'ed. Cano was dealing with a stomach bug for the most part of the first half and some family issues, he's going to bounce back very quickly. In saying that, the final years of that contract will be ugly, most likely.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I'm with you on that, I haven't really read any reports of other teams showing much interest in Davis, not at least at that price point. Well during the meetings, they reported several teams were in on him, including Toronto, as for the latter, I doubt the MLB Network were using Howard Berger's report, but you never know.

Is there any possibility the ADHD drugs mean that much to him? Likely, he needs meds to balance himself out. His skill posted them numbers not adderall, or whatever he's taking.

Hmmm interesting I wonder how far teams like us got close to some sort of agreement. I don't think many teams are in the position to offer what the O's offered that have a hole at first

Wouldn't be surprised if half the league was using similar medications.

His skill posted them numbers not adderall, or whatever he's taking. technically they would be "performance enhancing drugs" then, as it seems to enhance his performance while taking them

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Elite for 2, scrub for one... late April 2014 Davis injured his lat muscles..... an injury that can linger for months if not given the time to heal properly..... 2015 is a better reflection of his true talent than 2014 In any event, Jays don't need Davis, they need pitching.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 The Cardinals. Good point!!! They're probably waiting on Heyward's response before submitting a formal offer
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Jays don't need him period, Jim. Yep. I'll be smirking at the team that is dumb enough to sign him for 7+ years and ends up with Ryan Howard 2.0 on their hands.
