Hey Howard Berger...how do you feel about 8/200 million. Great move short term and long term?

 

Is Howard Berger even at the Winter Meetings? I'm guessing he re-cycled the report from earlier in the off-season.

Davis is risky imo, no way would I pay him that much.

 

Risky is an understatement. How can you pay a guy 25M per year when in the last 3 years he was good for 2 and horrible for 1?

Os pulled back their 7/150 offer to Davis. Watch Davis not even get that now. It really didn't seem like there was anyone else bidding for him besides Baltimore.

 

His new ADHD meds must be pretty expensive s***.

 

That or his agent must be Scott Boras.

By good you mean great right? 7.0 & 5.6 WAR seasons are more than merely good. Perhaps my sarcastic meter is broken again?

Thats assuming they ever had that offer on the table to begin with. I can't see anyone giving him $150M let alone the $200M he's asking for.

You can't just ignore 2014 when he put up 0.8 fWAR.

Judging by the dumpster diving we're busily engaging in again I'm not sure we could afford 8/20m.

 

7/150m is not off the charts crazy, 8/200m is insanity; just ask Seattle who've been Cano'ed.

I really want Baltimore to get him, he is going to be vastly overpaid in 3 years and he's going to be a huge liability. I would love for them to have him at 24m/yr.

I'm with you on that, I haven't really read any reports of other teams showing much interest in Davis, not at least at that price point.

Baltimore is going to be terrible in the next 5 years. Thank our lucky stars DD didn't come to Toronto. If they did a rebuild they could be in a great position 2-3 years from now. Britton would get a massive haul instead he's just being wasted on this mediocre Os team. Same thing with Adam Jones.
