Seems like he always takes the negative outlook regardless of situation though. If he's who I think he is, he's been doing this for about a decade.

 

Damn ok. I've only been here for a year and a half so I wouldn't know.

What negativity? Saying this is our best chance this year for awhile is negative? Are people that sensitive here?

 

2017 outlook:

 

- Bautista out

- Encarnacion out (maybe)

- Cecil out

- Dickey out

 

Improvements

- Another year of experience for guys like Pillar, Travis, Pompey, Stroman, Hutch. So you would expect them to be better.

- Possible emergence of someone like Sanchez/Osuna becoming a good starter

- Lots of money off the books to improve the rotation and offense

- prospects another year older, some ready to help out the major league roster

Well that's just my impression. I mean like he suggests there's probably some confirmation bias there but it sure seems like it's been a steady stream of negativity which to be honest I don't really mind as much as he seems to think I do. As long as he's civil, it's no big deal.

I don't know what everyone is expecting this off-season. Management has flat out said they're not trading prospects. And we know we have no money to spend. And we know there's no Donaldson style trade coming around the corner. So it's largely going to be reclamation projects and depth signings.

 

The monotony is getting tiresome, isn't it. We've picked up 3 starters and depth, and it's only the 2nd week of December, if they don't like it, learn to love it. ;)
