Absolutely agree. I've been mentioning him for a while. I'm a little surprised the Indians let him go.

I like the Cowgill move they made and someone had to go from the 40. Even though they don't have a lot of LHP, it's such a deep pitching crew on their 40...Morimando has been insanely good in the minors against lefties that they could probably put him into that role right now.

Hurl is usually more reliable than that site.

They are pretty damn reliable. They were the ones I approached about doing it for them...then I got accepted back to school. I sent them the Jays, Rays and Red Sox and they got Ed Ibarguen to finish it. Initially there were errors but I think the list is pretty good now.

I had completely forgotten that site existed.

Wish they never tried to venture into other sports. I like the velocity column for pitchers and the way they organize minor league depth now

So no options for Delabar, which means he's tentatively penciled in for a pen spot along with Osuna, Cecil, Sanchez, Loup. Only two spots left as long as everyone is retained.

Site is slow as f*** and the new UI is garbage but it's the only place that has all of that information.

Yeah but who gives a s*** about keeping Delabar around? He's essentially a replacement level reliever.

I'm surprised they bothered. A Delabar you can't ship back to AAA at will is just a pain to have around.

You just tender him as an insurance policy at this point, in case Osuna and Sanchez have a terrible tandem skydiving accident and land on Aaron Loup.

Maybe he comes to spring with a new pitch or something. I mean he still has some decent stuff and strikeout skill.

Why pay Smoak $3.9M when he did so little in the postseason for us?? I rather have underrated Bello as full-time 1B.

Delabar is going to pitch in a couple of weeks at DWL

what now son?

Playoffs are a crap shoot, and you're talking a very small sample size my friend.

While a preference for Colabello is reasonable, please think before you post. Why didn't Estrada get 100 million when he was so good in the playoffs?

One of the worst blog posts I have ever witnessed

There's no way I'm reading all of that, but the premise seems to be "Drabek sucks. Nathan sucked. Nathan then didn't suck. So maybe Drabek might stop sucking." Is that the gist of it?

Yeah basically. There's some kicking around the whole question of repertoire but no evidence that there's anything of note within Drabek's repertoire. There's also an oblique reference to the Diamondbacks pitching coach and wheter or not he's even capable of helping a pitcher.

I'd rather he just show up to came with some semblance of control over his pitches.

Biggest takeaway from that article was Dan Hudson possibly returning to the rotation. I didn't know! Yaaaaaay

Trade Tulo and Dickey

I think you may want to hold off on that until after this year. Trading him doesn't help us sign Price anymore. And it's be nice to increase his value over the course of a competitive window year. But, I wouldn't mind trading him after 2016. Hopefully we will be selling high.

Man, I wonder what Shapiro will do with EE and JB. I think you'll see us get picks for both when they leave for FA. But I'd like to extend them both.

Also, in terms of extensions, I wonder it may be prudent to offer Chavez a 2-year extension? Maybe 3-year, $24M (which would include this year), backloaded for 2016, 2017?

If we're out of it, trade them at the deadline. They'd waive it to go to a contender.

If we're still in it, though..

If they're having solid seasons, and we suck, I think we'd get a very decent haul for them. And I also think we'd have a shot at re-signing them after the season, too.

Do you think the FO will extend both EE and JB?

What sort of contract would it take, 3-year, $50M for each of them?

Beltran signed a 3 year 45 million contract back in 2013 at the age of 36.

Bautista will be at roughly the same age when he hits FA, and he is a much superior player.

If I were Bautista I'd expect 4 years at least, $80m
