polar bear Verified Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 An everyday play for Goins,by his reaction, obviously someone called him off,but who?
EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 And invisible Steve Bartman deflected the ball and Price played the part of Mark Prior.
EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Probably pillar The Chin scares them all.
rydermike Verified Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 iPad Guy obviously can control Goins brain using his ipad. Now we know why they keep showing him
Brans Verified Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Do not blame this play say the batter hits an infield single do you blame the fielder for not making the play. Price is a Cy candidate who choked this inning with just one runner on. He is not a mentally strong pitcher in the post season. It might all come together for him and he gets over the hump or it will eat at him. It is all mental.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 If Price gets the next 3 outs, or allows less than 3 runs in the inning, we wouldn't be talking about this. Don't Bartman this play. Price and Gibby s*** the bed that inning.

Price and Gibby s*** the bed that inning. agreed on not bartman this play and price s***ing the bed as for gibby, i agree with him that up to that point, Price has earned and showed that he can get out of the inning based on how he has done in the previous 6. so it was his game to win/loose. however even if you give into the benefit of hindsight, i think gibby is still going to screw things up because if he would have pulled Price, he most likely would bring in Sanchez with runners on and once again, we have a pitcher miscasted for the situation
Collison Verified Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 A fan? It was the fans. A buddy was at the game and sitting near the field where the play took place and he said tons of people in the stands were yelling "I got it, I got it"

TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Bottom line is the play happened, and after it was still 3-0 with a guy on 1st. Not a big deal. But then Price completely crumbles after that little incident. If he let that little single rattle him, then he's f***ed.
Collison Verified Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Oh god, please let this not become a thing. This happens at just about every game in the big leagues
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Oh god, please let this not become a thing. This sounds like a safety issue. >Pop up >2B back >RF yells "I got it" >2B thinks it's the fans making noise because this is now a thing >2B keeps going >2B ends up like Aaron Hill
EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 I hate to bring this up, but if we are going to play this Bartman game with that Goins/Bautista play then our own runs can go back to that "wire" incident too. Let's not do this, it's pointless.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 (edited) Who saw the Bautista post-game interview? What a f***ing dickhead. First time I've ever agreed with the other teams' fanbases in their opinions towards him. Douche. Just makes my f***ing skin quiver to see Bautista, hair slicked back, defiantly throw his teammate under the bus. Edited October 18, 2015 by Laika

To risk creating a rift in the clubhouse this time of year is bad enough and just damn selfish in so many ways.

I just saw that as him being pissed off in general, he was being a dick to every reporter and clearly was annoyed with having to answer questions about that mistake in the game. Was a very odd interview. But I don't really see it as him throwing Goins under the bus if you watch the whole thing
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 What'd he say? http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/bautista-someone-called-me-off/ He certainly comes off douchey.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 I'm kind of biased against Bautista because of previous stuff like this but honestly he just kind of comes off as Marshawn Lynch for the first 40 seconds and then it got fairly cliche. All in all, 6.5/10, might watch again on a rainy Sunday.

The way I saw it is that the fans called Bautista 'off' and he didn't want to say that in front of the cameras. If he does then all of KC will yell got it on every ball in the air.

I think it is very difficult to interpret his real intention. There are some on the board that are convinced based on what he said/didn't say that he was letting Goins take all the blame, even though it was deserved. This seem to support what you are saying What I do agree with is that Bautista is somewhat douchey throughout his career, whether it'd be pimping HRs, arguing with umps, etc. And I've discovered that I want some of these douchey guys on my team. I don't know whether I would want a whole team of Martin (i.e. gentleman, always PC, nice guy, etc)

Hey how about you don't call me a dickrider and f***ing watch Goins' post game interview? http://m.mlb.com/video/v524028483/?query he clearly says "I stuck my arm out a few times and I thought I heard someone call". Well f*** if Goins didn't yell he got it and Bautista didn't I wonder who did? Jesus Christ some of you guys are in love with Drama. You'd probably be more happy if Bautista was in fact throwing Goins under the bus wouldn't you?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Every fan in every stadium yells that stuff when the opposing team has to catch a fly ball. That's really no excuse.
Slugger Verified Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Did he come off as a douche? Yeah. But he's upset the team is down 0-2 and is being asked the same question over and over. We have no idea how they dealt with it behind closed doors. But Jose's non-answer is creating some fabricated "read between the lines" ******** that the media is feasting on. He would've come off looking bad no matter what he said, so he choose to say nothing and still gets roasted. Goins took full responsibility. Why even go to Jose about it? (even though it's inevitable)
