KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I can see why people want a child, get a mini version of yourself that you can go through life with Yes narcisism is another reason to want a kid but I've seen people get baby fever and it's not as rational/cynical as you're making it out to be.

I think it comes down to couples parents pressuring them to make grandchildren too.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Please stop. Yeah I'd second this. We're just going around in circles at this point.
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 You jelly that I don't change diapers and have gone to Hawaii this year, SF, LA, SD, Chicago, NYC, Denver (snowboarding) Prague, Rome and Budapest, the year isn't even over yet and I am going to Japan to snowboard in December..... yeah you jelly. First you said you travel every 6 months, that's once or twice a year. Now you're saying you've gone to 10 cities/countries in 10 months. Two weeks ago you were asking who wanted to party after the game and then said you partied in Vegas that night anyway (Which to no surprise Las Vegas didn't make your list of cities this year). You're full of s***.

The industry I work in is a 24/7 industry and people have conflicting schedules. Also I have friends in other cities/countries and I didn't know if you know this but people can meet up on vacation from flying from different airports into one location where other people meet.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I was brought to a hockey game at 4 days old. It is kind of cool being able to say that I was there, even though I can't remember.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Not saying she shouldn't be able to bring the baby but do you really think the baby got anything out of the experience? Won't even remember being there. I guess it's for her to tell the baby when they grow up? Seems selfish. If you can afford those seats you can afford a babysitter... She didn't deserve to have beers thrown on her or anything though. Being able to afford a babysitter and having one available to you are not the same thing and frankly, why as a parent should you have to get one even if you can afford them and they are affordable? Babies enjoy their parents company. Parents are sometimes more comfortable, for whatever reason (including but not limited to financial) having their baby with them as well. Beyond better noise protection, there's nothing to critique here. It's not really about the baby experiencing the ball game at all. I don't know why people keep bringing that up.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 If you can afford those seats you can afford a babysitter... There are lots of reasons to not get a babysitter that have nothing to do with finances; the baby hasn't moved to a bottle yet, isn't comfortable with strangers, etc. The kid should definitely have had ear protection (if it didn't), but not sure why this woman is getting dumped on (literally and figuratively). It seems to me that she's most likely a baseball fan that didn't want to miss the biggest game in over 20 years so she took her baby.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Yes This is all I could grab off my phone, hilarious I have to post this to prove how much I travel.... anyways enjoy creeping on my friends and life. http://imgur.com/a/JjA2Z

West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 #Murica I do love Canada too, my soon to be wife is from Jamaica and grew up playing cricket (I still can't understand it) helps her enjoy baseball with me, plus she has a lady boner for Donaldson too so I guess that helps her interests.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 The term 'lady boner' makes me uncomfortable.

You do understand not even a month ago that you were saying people from the 905 shouldn't be allowed in Toronto without paying a toll fee. Now you post pictures waving an American flag and wearing an American flag T-Shirt I just think its kind of hillarious.

I was just saying people need to help cover the costs for the roads they use, many other cities do this, NYC, SF, Dallas, Austin, Boston. I am sure I am missing some other ones. That was all I was saying, sorry if it came off as douschy.

Cookie Verified Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Except this guy: http://m.mlb.com/news/article/132444096/cubs-fan-makes-catch-holding-baby A gal I know from another message board knows that guy. Her husband works with him and those seats are their company seats that they are often at. I remember when she posted about it, she was like "he's such an athlete!" I was and still am firmly on the side that the dude is an idiot. So someone you know from the internet knows that guy from the internet. lol I've brought my then 6 month old to a hockey game but we were no where near where a rogue puck would hit us and he slept the whole time. People like to hang out with their families. I don't fault her for bringing her kids. The baby looks like it could still be breastfed, it's not that easy to leave a breastfed baby for 5 hours. Someone said it somewhere, babies are easy a three year old is a clusterf***. Finding a babysitter is not easy. I personally would do anything to not bring a 4 and under to a playoff game.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 so you've been to Thailand It seems like everyone these days wants to go to Thailand or has been there. I really don't have a desire to go. I'd go eventually maybe, though its not on the top of my TDL as it is for some other people. There are so many other places I'd rather visit first before going to Thailand. I heard its really touristy.
