TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 OK we all know the Jays and Indians discussed Salazar this year close to the trade deadline. Ive been thinking...Alex isn't done trying to get him. I predict Alex/Shapiro go full out to try and pry him from Cleveland this winter. With Revere on the team now, Saunders coming back, and Pompey not needing another year in AAA, we have a lot of OF depth. Also we have a bit of depth at 2B with Travis and Goins both capable. Here's 2 scenarios. Who says no? 1) Sanchez + choice of Pompey/Pillar, + any prospect not named Alford 2) Sanchez, Travis, B prospect I'd love to see a rotation of Stroman, Salazar, Price (or whoever we sign to replace him) Dickey, Estrada next year. Osuna replaces Dickey in 2017.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I personally wouldn't do trade #2 because I think Travis will be VERY good. I'd do trade #1 but Cleveland probably says no.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I find it funny that everyone here is sold on Goins being above-average now after 1-2 good months. He's still the same player he always was. He's a valuable bench piece and a fringe starter. Travis is a much better player.
500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Sanchez is going to be a stud - Jays will not give up on him, pompey and travis will be an every day players, saunders is done as a fielder with that knee, pillar might be top 2-3 CF in baseball now...Wouldny make any of those trades.

His hit streak may have had to do with teams throwing him fastballs after focusing heavy on the top order
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 As much as I would love to add one to pair with Stroman at the top of the rotation. I fear we don't lime up to well with what they are looking for.

The guy has never been able to hit, from A-ball to the majors. Great guy to have on the bench (although he has to learn how to f***ing bunt), but Travis should be the starter.
500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Not sure if srs Im talking right now, yes yhe level he is playing is defo top 3 in AL. Fielding as good as anyone, has good speed and his hitting is rock solid. Right now, not career, but right now he is. The other guys are playing golf
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Cleveland says no. Thread should have been closed after this
Dr Negative Verified Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Cleveland should be looking to win the division next year. They won't trade any of their SP unless they receive major league players in return.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Lol pillar top 2-3 cf in the league. .he's arguably the worst cf in the al east alone
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Maybe it's just me, but is an anagram really necessary for a 12 letter phrase? Sometimes they make things harder to read, not easier. Yeah but there's also a lot of spaces in between those words, those are characters too.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Lol pillar top 2-3 cf in the league. .he's arguably the worst cf in the al east alone to be fair, he had the 2nd highest WAR for a CF in the AL-East this year didn't he? Its all defense, but he did provide a lot of value.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Yeah but there's also a lot of spaces in between those words, those are characters too. I guess so and it's probably just me that has to look these up all of the time. People in my social circle don't really use them, so it's basically only this message board.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Lol pillar top 2-3 cf in the league. .he's arguably the worst cf in the al east alone If you ignore defence.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Yeah but there's also a lot of spaces in between those words, those are characters too. cummon DD, a space should count as half a character at most. The only responsibility your thumb has!
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 A true talent evaluation would surely put Pillar behind Jones, Ellsbury, Kiermaier and Betts. That's if you think Ellsbury is going to improve next year at age 32.

Every squirrel finds a nut now and then and he hit well for 6-8 weeks. Even if the guy can work the pitch count and get the odd single/BB its value I don't expect. Gibby cannot hesitate to pinch hit for him in Game 5 like he did in Game 2 when we have a chance to score 5th inning on. Especially against Hamels. Edited October 13, 2015 by BigCecil spelling

Laika Community Moderator Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I guess Pillar for Salazar would be fair but man, I've grown to love KP. It's possible that he's at the zenith of his value right now though I suppose. Still, I don't like trading above average regulars up the middle.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 BTW I meant Carrasco not Salazar in my OP. My bad, I get the two mixed up Well that changes quite a bit, lol.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Feeder crickets don't use keyboard shorthand? I don't fraternize with those lowlifes, my best friend is my orchid mantis. Get your facts straight, jeez.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 BTW I meant Carrasco not Salazar in my OP. My bad, I get the two mixed up Yeah, that changes a lot, Cleveland hang up. They were asking for a truckload IIRC.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 BTW I meant Carrasco not Salazar in my OP. My bad, I get the two mixed up Simple Cleveland says no lol
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I don't take most of the posts in this thread seriously...until I recall what the Jays gave up for Donaldson then I recognize that anything is possible.
