Canadian kid Sam Shaw must be pushing his way up into top 10-15 territory in the system. Among 61 qualified hitters in the FSL he ranks fifth with a 145 wRC+. He's first in BB/KK ratio at 0.98 (18.3 BB% vs 18.7) K%), third in OBP and fifth in wOBA with both being .407

 

Seems like a strong candidate for a promotion to Vancouver in his age 20 season

Yes, Roboscout has him at 16 in that entire circuit, that takes in defense as well, he's deserving no doubt, love his bat.

The 2024 draft class seems to be killing it.  There's what - 5 guys already in the majors and guys like Yesavage and others having amazing 1st seasons in the minors.  Love to see it.

22 foul balls in the 3rd inning did him in, 10 in the AB that Erhardt(SP?) hit the 3 run HR. They took him out after far too many pitches in the inning, he wasn't as crisp as he's shown up until now, according to the play by play guys.

Nimmala down to a 106 wRC+. He must be on one heck of a cold stretch. Hopefully he turns things around. Was looking forward to him ending the season in AA.

Trey Yesavage, Khal Stephen, Gage Stanifer, Kendry Rojas, Johnny King, Landen Maroudis

You can even add Tiedemenn to the list since he's rehabbing

Yeah it's insane. 

And that doesn't even mention Barriera who is finally back on the mound, and all of the other actual SP prospects who are solid but maybe don't have huge ceilings or are more in the relief prospect area.

Landen Maroudis doesn't belong on this list for the time being, unfortunately. His stuff is way down (like 90-92 on the fastball) with wavering command. 

He is in the TBD camp with Barriera and Tiedemann.

Oh wow, that's promising. Hopefully just rusty with the control and new found velocity. A lefty with 99 in the arsenal is nice. He can work on control hopefully.

He has MLB stuff and is a legit prospect.

Plus fastball and slider. 

BA already has him #5 on Toronto prospect list which they recently updated

Some movement in the top 30 by BA, weird thing I noticed is that Shaw just sits at 30 unmoved despite good results?

Also, Nimalla is 42, Yesavage 69, Tiedemann 98 on the mid-season list top 100.

Gage Stanifer, RHP, Blue Jays

In a year when all of Toronto’s top pitching prospects appear on an upward trajectory, no pitcher has taken a more drastic step than Stanifer. A 19th-round pick in 2022 out of the Indiana prep ranks, Stanifer has added velocity across his pitch mix and simultaneously improved his command of his arsenal. After beginning the season in a piggy-backed role behind Trey Yesavage, Stanifer has taken to a starter’s role with High-A Vancouver.

Probably the #2 SP prospect in the system? Certainly an argument that he is. 

BA had him 10th, which was the 6th ranked SP in the system. Pretty crazy jump for the entire farm system to have a SP prospect like that end up as the team's 6th ranked SP prospect.
