6 up, 6 down, 6 Ks. 5 swinging, 1 looking on a back up slider (LHH). 1 swinging on a slider (LHH) and 4 swinging on fastballs in the zone

Just please let this kid stay healthy and not break before he gives us at least 6+ years of amazing service time...

3rd inning

Gave up a single to LF

Ground ball to SS off De Los Santos' glove. Probably an error in MLB

Struck out the next 3. 1 on the changeup and 2 more on fastballs

Ended with 9 Ks, 2 Hs, 0 ERs in 3 IP

Announcers had his fastball 95-99. Got a little wild in the 2nd inning and dropped to 95 a few before finishing the 3rd out that inning at 99 I believe

Did Beltre or Pinto ever happen to stand right beside Peyton Williams?

Pinto didn't play last night but Peyton is huge.

Love the updates spats! I look forward to these each spring.

Thanks Brownie . I look forward to being here. Will be in Clearwater for an extended spring game on the 18th.Hoping for a Barriera/Bonilla sighting.

The Reds AA pitcher Andrew Abbott has struck out 25 of the 35 batters he has faced. Two hits, one walk in 10.1 innings

The add% in him in FT is funny.

Believe me - we're all rooting for that to happen. A spats scouting report on Barriera/Bonilla would be incredible. Fingers crossed for you.

Every BA featured prospect gets some uptick. I was shocked to see him owned in one of our leagues

I know TINSTAAP is a real thing, but it’s really hard to look at Tiedemman body of work and pure stuff and not think he’s going to be a top of the rotation arm.

I guess going deep into games is the next developmental challenge, but even if he can give us 5 innings from a rotation spot, that’s immensely valuable.

I hear ya, at this point it's pretty apparent that injury issues are likely the only thing that will be able to hold Tiedemann back.

And hopefully Barriera is Tiedemann V2

I can't wait for Barriera getting into minor league games so we can see how he's been progressing. He already possessed a very nice set of tools pre-draft so even if he doesn't explode onto the scene ala Tiedemann he should be a very fun prospect to follow.

Duneden?

Yep.

Fangraphs report:

Age 23.7 Height 6′ 0″ Weight 190 Bat / Thr R / R FV 35+

Tool Grades (Present/Future)

Fastball Slider Command Sits/Tops

55/60 55/60 30/35 94-95 / 99

Jennings has an athletic build with a thick lower half, and pitched eight innings of professional ball after being drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 draft. In that short stint, his two-seamer sat 94-95 mph and touched 96, which was down a tick from the velocity he was pumping that year as a senior at Louisiana Tech, where he touched 99. The velo dip may just be because those minor league innings were coming after he’d already racked up 98 frames in college. His delivery’s pace is deceptive, and his mid-80s slider flashes plus. His command is inconsistent, and he sometimes misses by a mile; his 13 HBP as a senior was among the highest marks in his conference, and more than any other college pitcher selected in the first four rounds. Still, with some refinement, he is a solid relief prospect.

Looks like 24 yo lefty reliever Jimmy Burnette is being groomed as a closer this year in AA.

3 for 3 in save opportunities so far, where as he'd only racked up 8 saves in 51 games in the past two seasons

Always had wicked high K/9 numbers, but too many walks. So far 0 walks this season, albeit only 11 batters faced with 12/9 K rate.

We'll see how that plays out this season.

How huge would it be for the Jays to develop a home grown high leverage lefty? Rooting for this kid. Apparently he throws mid to high 90's.

That would be nice. Wonder how close he is.

We could really use a lefty in the pen so I'm hoping big time for this guy, but learning control isn't the easiest thing.

It's not. But it's also one of those things that magically gets improved by a small tweak.

Is it time where there is real hope that he's turned a corner??

Getting a chance to pitch uninterrupted has probably done him wonders. His biggest issue is he just hasn't consistently pitched enough. Hes been in and out. Starting and stopping rehabbing. They yoinked him between Starting and Relieving a few times. The Blue Jays probably want to leave him completely untouched for a month and see what he can do.

That's what many have said, the current BP is graded right now for sure and it looks like Richards might be in danger of the ole DFA trade by May.

It's so weird too , his statcast page is about as unreal as it gets for someone you;d think should be getting much better results.

Whiff rate is top of the charts, and avoids barrels well so even even when his pitches get hit, the EV sucks.
