Fitz Stadler with 2ks in a clean inning. Can he start to be considered a serious BP prospect? Throws 101 and K'ing a crap ton of batters.

Exactly. Why not give him a shot with Thornton's roster spot?

Its so clear if you take a look around the league that the number 1 most important thing out of bullpens these days is velocity and we have only one guy on the current bullpen who can even sniff 98. In the offseason we will have to target more guys who can throw hard in relief and maybe take more chances on the guys in AAA who have velo like Stadler and Hobie Harris and Dany Jiminez. No more of guys who only throw 92-95.

Bryan Baker also. He was reportedly steady 97-99mph and touching 100-101mph when the Jays traded for him 3 years ago.

Still learning to control it though, a touch too many walks but getting better.

Add another guy to the list. Like why the f*** do we have so many guys in AAA who throw gas and have solid numbers but we gave shitbags like Chatwood and Dolis so much rope. And gave Snead and Thornton and Castro and Payapms so many MLB innings.

Oh and cant forget Travis f***ing BERGEN. Never gonna forget that shitbag walking in like 3 straight runs vs Tampa in May.

It’s not 1982, lots of guys throw 90+ that will never make the majors. It’s not like a Kevin Smith situation where you call someone up where they sucks balls and you try to let them work through it. BP isn’t a good place for that in the stretch of playoff race. If the team thought they had the legit plus talent, they prob would’ve had their cup of coffee by now

Yeah people need to understand that most of these MiLB guys putting up decent numbers and throwing hard are probably worse than guys like Joel Payamps who have already been cycled through.

And Toronto HAS given opportunities to most of the deserving AAA relievers so far this year. The results have not been that great.

He's been walking a ton of batters. He's also not on the 40-man roster. You don't want to just start throwing RPs with control problems on the 40-man roster if you think they'll eventually be a good bullpen arm some day. If he doesn't have his control problems figured out at the moment he comes up and walks everyone, what does the team do with him. Maybe he has figured it out, maybe not, it's only been 6 games.

Holding grudges is not good for you, just let them go.

There is a difference between "this minor league guy is interesting" and "they should call this guy up our bullpen sux!"

Weren't they mentioning bringing him up? If not, my bad.

Nah, looking at that now, I certainly deserve the L.

Manuel Beltre:

August: 15 games: .364/.563/.545

I think he's figuring it out.

Another guy who's figuring it out: Rikelbin de Castro. .873 OPS in August
