I'm afraid of his Kevin Pillar approach.

Good results in minor leagues, but in MLB pitchers eat you alive.

You gonna respond to my offer?

Luis Patiño is a consensus top 30 prospect, and is 11 months older than Simeon Woods-Richardson

The hype on this forum over the stats of an 18-year old A-ball pitcher is out of control. These guys almost always break. Dude just went 5th round in the DDL and 2nd round in BORED like two weeks ago lol.

if they 'almost always' broke, MLB teams should be sued for intentionally causing harm to their pitchers. I think A-ball (and SWR is on his way to A+) is where you start caring about pitching prospects. Some of them can move ridiculously quickly, too.

If he continues doing as well in High-A as an 18 year old, that’s gonna immediately shoot him up the Top 100. He’d be the youngest pitcher in all of High-A by 2 years.

Surprised this hasn’t been posted already.

Nate Pearson had the longest outing of his pro career last night: 6 IP, 0R, 2H, 3BB, 5K, 91 pitches.

Here are a few of his blistering fastballs:

Also, Kevin Smith finally reached a 103 wRC+ last night after going 2-for-3 with a HR and a walk. He’s been on fire in July.

19 games, .353/.390/.750, 219 wRC+

That's certainly encouraging. He just needs to cut that K% down to the mid to low 20's.

Pearsons line was good and obviously still dominant but going to need to figure out his command in these longer stints. I think I read he threw 91 pitches and 51 for strikes.

Looks like he has a 27% K-rate in July. Still bad, but at least much better than earlier in the season.

The Blue Jays traded Guadalupe Chavez for Scott Feldman during the 2016 season. I remember going to look up his numbers and being surprised to learn of his retirement at the end of 2016.

Apparently he retired because his brother was kidnapped in Mexico. He only started pitching again this year.

Watching the first few innings. Kay sitting 90 on most of his pitches. Can ramp it up a little bit. Very slurvey curve that doesn't have a ton of bite. Lacks a real out pitch which has gotten him in trouble. Was expecting a bit more to be honest

He's been getting creamed in AAA. Hope he figures it out at some point. He's one of the 20 that checks all the boxes afterall.

Lol Kay getting roughed up pretty badly in Buffalo tonight.

I know it is only one start but I don't see what Atkins saw in Kay. He has a very average fastball that catches way too much of the plate, a very slurvey curve that kind of just floats over the plate instead of having any bite. Lacks command on top of that. I really hope he improves but there just wasn't much there tonight to get excited about. Looked like an org guy up there pitching

Still trying to stay positive about it, he was pretty dominant in AA. I'm sure getting used to the new ball is going to take some time. Callis was on the fan590 yesterday and said it's a big adjustment to get used to. AAA HR numbers are up 40%.

Home runs in AAA are up a lot higher than 40%, they've hit 700+ more home runs this season at this time than they did all last season.

But the ball performs exactly the same!

It's like he heard you Ang. Three walks in one game!

.314/.377/.539. He's still got the biggest hurdles ahead of him, so I hope he conquers those before Atkins even thinks of trading him.

Talking about catchers, Phil Clarke hadn't done too much with the bat lately, so a 4-for-5 night with a double and a walk sounds great to me.

.309/.413/.441 with 10/10 K/BB.
