Todd Verified Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Look at that someone else is agreeing with me. Alford should not be anyway near the blue jays top 40 prospects. He should have to earn is way back into the top 40.
Ray Verified Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 I know it's only Rk league and he's 21, but what Cal Stevenson is doing is still impressive. In 49 games: .383/.520/.531 52 walks and only 19 strikeouts Also 19 year old C Alejandro Kirk in 51 games in the APPY league: .333/.423/.522 with 8HR and a 44% caught stealing!

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Vlad struggling lately... bust!!! I think the off days are hurting his groove lol. Seems like he has had more off days in AAA then he did all year
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 If anyone wants to early scout next years draft the PG All American classic from the other night is up I am only a few innings in but alraady have some faves

Seems like he has had more off days in AAA then he did all year Not to be a negative nancy here, but maybe his "groove" and the "off days" both have the same cause... It may be his knees are still hurting a bit. I admit I was a bit of a maniac about the injury issue. However I stand by that point, the risk with Guerrero is mostly injury and health. If he's a dissapointment it will be because of injuries. He's a supremely talented hitter, and if healthy he should be a star. I don't see him playing 155 games a year AND being a disspointment. His road to failure is injury related. a) he's not on the field enough and when on the field the injuries effect his performance. Kind of like what happened to Nick Johnson. Nick Johnson was the last milb hitter to have the kind of video game numbers at 19/20 that Vlad does. Hopefully he's fully healthy and goes into Pujols mode for the next 10 years.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Kloffenstein debuted today in GCL 1IP 1BB 2K 12 Pitches
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Kloffenstein debuted today in GCL 1IP 1BB 2K 12 Pitches 12 pitches? two 3 pitch K's + a 4 pitch walk would only leave 2 pitches to get the last out (unless he picked off the guy he walked). That's a pretty bizarre inning

That's a pretty bizarre inning The pitch counts aren't accurate for the lowest levels of the minor leagues. Much like spring training on MLB gameday, it usually counts a strikeout as 3 pitches and a walk as 4. I think, anyway. Could be wrong.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Double play? That's going to be tough when he struck out 2...

If that's the case - just don't post pitch counts please...Christ - we have to keep and record pitch counts on 10 year olds these days. Surely we have proper pitch counts in the GCL.

jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Who's a decent comparison for Kloffenstein?
tercet Verified Member Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Who's a decent comparison for Kloffenstein? Verlander, Scherzer, Kershaw bc they are all 6'5'' and have a career K/9 < Kloffenstein. #jaysfanlogic
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2018 Author Posted August 20, 2018 That's going to be tough when he struck out 2... LoL. Oops. Was there a wild pitch in there where he struck out on a wild pitch and still made it to first?
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2018 Author Posted August 20, 2018 Who's a decent comparison for Kloffenstein? Frankenstein if he's ugly.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Said it before, Samad is my sleeper prospect. He is going to be top 10 in the Jays system by next year. Young is having a better season than I thought as well and just turned 21.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Inject this right into my veins. Hahahaha Mackenzie Gore is awful hahahaha
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Those clips explain Gore's pedestrian ERA this year. That fastball is deeeaaaaaaad straight

TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 In Gore's defense if you add their Power ratings together he just faced 70 or 80 power
