On another note, holy cow Bradley Jones ended his season nicely in Bluefield as well. He's 21, but in his last ten games he hit .488 with five home runs. 16HR 182B in 237ABs

The fact that they didn't abandon it after 5 games is encouraging. Too early to tell though...but let's hope he has a great off-season and spends a shitload of time working on the craft of playing there.

Scouts say he has a great arm. You would think if worse comes to worse he could play an OF corner. I would like to see him focus on getting in better shape this off-season. Trim that baby fat.

17 year olds that have put up a better slugging percentage in the APPY are few and far between (of course there haven't been a lot in the league either) I looked up the last 10 years.

 

Ozzie Albies 2014 .452

Wilmer Flores 2008 .490 as a 16 year old.

Billy Rowell 2006 .507

 

The AZL and GCL tend to get more 17 year olds.

Tellez's MLB projection(87 wRC+) as a 21 year is pretty close to Smoak's(91 wRC+) going forward, pretty incredible.
