Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Brian Crawford Final line for Angel Perdomo - 5.2 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 K
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Alex Cohen On Perdomo exit -- He was greeting at mound by entire field staff, including trainer. So, @BlueJays fans, I doubt it's a trade.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Tellez seems pretty smart http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/rowdy-tellez-a-future-jay-and-the-chip-on-his-shoulder/ Good read.
admin Site Manager Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Tellez 2/3 with a HR today. Haven't been a big fan but starting to convert.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I like the low strikeout rate and the SLG ain't bad
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Extremely impressive for a 17 year old. It's actually rare to see those sort of power numbers at that age.

Think he cracks top 100 next year? On another note, holy cow Bradley Jones ended his season nicely in Bluefield as well. He's 21, but in his last ten games he hit .488 with five home runs. 16HR 182B in 237ABs

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Is Vlad likely to stick at 3B or too hard to tell at this point??
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 Is Vlad likely to stick at 3B or too hard to tell at this point?? The fact that they didn't abandon it after 5 games is encouraging. Too early to tell though...but let's hope he has a great off-season and spends a shitload of time working on the craft of playing there.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Is Vlad likely to stick at 3B or too hard to tell at this point?? 1B-DH 90% sure

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 1B-DH 90% sure Scouts say he has a great arm. You would think if worse comes to worse he could play an OF corner. I would like to see him focus on getting in better shape this off-season. Trim that baby fat.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 17 year olds that have put up a better slugging percentage in the APPY are few and far between (of course there haven't been a lot in the league either) I looked up the last 10 years. Ozzie Albies 2014 .452 Wilmer Flores 2008 .490 as a 16 year old. Billy Rowell 2006 .507 The AZL and GCL tend to get more 17 year olds.
King Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Is he likely to play in the Dominican Winter League? You have to be in full season ball to be drafted into DWL.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Move him up to Lansing! How much longer does their season run?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 How much longer does their season run? Just through this weekend. 3 games.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Just through this weekend. 3 games. Ah. Next year then
nmrch Verified Member Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Tellez's MLB projection(87 wRC+) as a 21 year is pretty close to Smoak's(91 wRC+) going forward, pretty incredible.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 You have to be in full season ball to be drafted into DWL. Same with Puerto Rican and Venezuelan. Not sure about Australia though
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Same with Puerto Rican and Venezuelan. Not sure about Australia though I'm sure he'd much rather bang Puerto Rican chicas (like most Dominican guys do) so prob not an appealing option
