Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Raw power ala Juan Francisco, JP Arencibia, Randy Ruiz, Chip Cannon. But he can hit pitches anywhere in the zone and offspeed pitches....that alone already puts him ahead of those you mentioned

I saw him tons of time in BP and in couple of games. He's a raw raw guy with a lot of pop, but he's just a kid. He needs to develop his skills before make a value judgment about him. I've seen a lot of 16 years old guys fail.

I agree, he has a long way to go. Got to put in the work and get better each day. But from where other 16 year olds are he is way better than most.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Rowdy has his 2nd home run. This guy has been outstanding so far as a 21 year old in AA.

But from where other 16 year olds are he is way better than most. I have a friend named Andres James. He is the son of the Cano's coach Cano when he was about 15 years. Andres was the best player in the league, much much better than Robinson Cano. A team offered him a record of 3 million dollars and his father refused to sign. The father demanded between 5 to 6 millions. In the end Andres James signed for only 200 thousand dollars and suxx at beisbol------> http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=sa328845&position=SS The point is ..... no matter how good you are at 16 years. You must develop your skills before called you "a good player MLB"

He's extremely young but he has absolutely no instincts for fielding, it's like all he ever practiced was hitting. I'm not confident he'll be anything more than a LF, DH guy if he gets to the show but again he is really young so maybe he'll grow into a position.

He's a chubby boy, maybe if he changes his body ala Roberto Osuna
Cyborg Verified Member Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Calgarian boy Mike Soroka looks like a stud pitching prospect. Dominating A ball at 18 years old. Too bad the Braves picked him one spot in front of us taking Harris. Obviously we may not have taken him but still.

The Jays used to do that if the kids deserved it. Now it seems to be lots of short season ball first.
spats Verified Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 No Devon Travis at Extended Spring game vs Canadian Nationals but ran into this guy. Love the Rock.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Pompey pulled from tonights game with a foot injury. Loos like the same turf toe injury he had earlier.

Cyborg Verified Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 So Perdomo is definitely top 10 in our org now after his start I think.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 So Perdomo is definitely top 10 in our org now after his start I think. One start shouldn't move anyone anywhere. Let's see what he does over a dozen or so starts.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 One start shouldn't move anyone anywhere. Let's see what he does over a dozen or so starts. You're probably right, but when you look at the depth chart in the minors right now, anything from like 6 or 7 through 30 is pretty fluid.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 One start shouldn't move anyone anywhere. Let's see what he does over a dozen or so starts. Three games. And ya its pretty barren after 7 or 8 that it could really be anyone.

If so, I say just call him up to Toronto.
