I also don't know if its been noted anywhere. We have the following players playing for Salt River Rafters in AFL: Brady Dragmire, Justin Shafer, Chad Girodo, Rowdy Tellez, Matt Dean, and Roemon Fields.

Seems like one of our weakest AFL classes. Then again the farm system is a bit thin past Alford at the moment.

Let's go prospects !!!

*clap, clap* *clap, clap, clap*

Could I respectfully request that you avoid any spats with posters who may put you on an ignore list so we have to get a new thread. Or any mods that may ban you and delete your account.

Many Thanks in advance ;)

I would agree. Though it seems we haven't particularly had any real bumper AfL crops like some teams have. I feel like the Jays use more aggressive promotion through the minors, and a heavy workload that way, than the AFL.

I'm intrigued a little bit about Girodo. I would be really excited if Tellez tears up the AfL. At least as excited as I can get for the AfL.

I was at the game tonight to watch the Salt River Rafters. The Jays did not send many top prospects here this year (they don't have many left) but it was a good opening night for Rowdy Tellez...he went 2 for 3 with a double and single while driving in 4. The most impressive part of this is that the 2 hits came against a lefty.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Great start Rowdy! We discussed that exact thing in the Prospects thread. Here is a link to the rosters:

80 power on Tellez? First time I've seen that #. Not sure who that scout is

I'm going through his tweets, and its almost all pitch velocity. I'm thinking he maybe meant 8/10 raw power. Mind you hitting it out of a stadium would indicate possibly that kind of raw power. I really like Tellez, I see him in Toronto next September quite possibly.

Now 50

Future 65

This seems more like it but 65/80 is the same as 8/10, or close anyway.

Rowdy not playing tonight. Emilio Guerrero in at left field (usual shortstop - but the Jays toyed with him in CF this season).

30th round pick. If AA keeps making a habit of late round diamonds, we are going to be strong for a long time.

Did Guerrero not also play some second base?

He was only a 30th round pick due to college commitment.

No but he played 6 games at 3B. That makes me wonder about the DSJ expirement at 2B though. Wonder if that's over.

Nah, he and Brentz slipped cause they were difficult signs.

Jays prospects being sent to the Australian Baseball League: David Harris, Phil Kish, Derrick Loveless, Colton Turner (coming off TJS), and Jason Leblebijian.

Former Jay Jack Murphy (traded to the Dodgers a month ago) is also going to play for the Canberra Cavalry... and he's a legend over there, so they are all pumped about it.

The Canberra 'Elite' Cavalry have agreed to terms with cult-hero and future Cavalry legend Jack Murphy. Murphy will return to Canberra for the entirety of the 2015/16 ABL Season.

Murphy has been a cornerstone in the Cavalry team for the past three years and will add another dimension to an already powerful batting lineup.

As an added boost for the team, the adopted Canberran will return to the Cavalry as an 'Australian' under the new import rules.

Cavalry Manager Michael Collins believes the fact he is coming back as an Aussie adds 'even more value' to the team'.

"It should be a great thing for the team, he has experienced an ABL championship and an Asia Series Championship, he knows what the team's about and knows how to bring another Championship back to Canberra," Collins said.

According to Collins the now 27-year-old catcher will add both experience and versatility to the team.

"It's tough to say exactly where he will fit in but he is a guy that always wants to play and we will be looking to use him in as many positions as we possibly can," Collins said.

"We will obviously be looking to get his bat in the lineup as often as possible."

The fan-favorite enjoyed an extremely successful season with the Cavalry in 2014/15 batting at .353 and picking up the Most Valuable Player award.

Murphy has spent the majority of the American baseball season playing at AA-level in the Toronto Blue Jays system and has recently been traded to the LA Dodgers.

Murphy will play his first game for the Cavalry this season on the 23rd of October at the Narrabundah Ballpark. Get your tickets now here!

Tellez was a 2nd round talent.

Idk about that, but pretty high, yeah. Top 100, for sure.
